New Everton Stadium

I would assume the benefit of having some CWG action at new ground at BMD would be the infrastructure would be in place for large matchday crowds, (transportation, restaurants, pubs etc), and the location on the Mersey would be something special, so it all does make sense.

Perhaps the new ground could host the Rugby 7's or Hockey with no impact to structure of the stadium? Agree a track would be very limiting.

I think it would be good for the city of Liverpool to host the commenweath games, I just hope it has no impact on the design of our stadium. When you think about it the commenweath games lasts for a few weeks, we are hopefully going to be in the new stadium for hundreds of years

I think the commenweath games can have a good legacy and councils can use it to force through big changes in the city that they wouldn't normally get and it can kick start regeneration of certain areas. Not all the money has to come from the public purse

According to Wiki (and that is never wrong) it is where Kennedy gave his famous speech in the early 60's to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade. "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too." is the quote. I think he is alluding to the fact he is confident of any issues being overcome to build something really special.

They will give us all sorts of stuff that doesn't cost too much and plenty of intangibles like planning permissions etc
When We and Peel get buildings on sites and IF The Commomwealth boondoggle gets the green light, then LCC will collect rates for 50yrs.

You say this, and yet they bought our training ground from the liquidators when we couldn't afford it.

Swings and roundabouts, they helped us out.

It's a boondogle/money pit of the highest order, not only can't the council run a beer up in a brewery, they can barely fund the services they're supposed to.
If anybody will have a legacy, which I doubt, the Games won't be it, it's all about Anderson getting his name on some bricks and mortar or tarmac.
