New Everton Stadium

Well, the most practical redevelopment plans give us new Park and Street Ends, and a reconfigured Main Stand without any obstructed views. So that just leaves the Bullens Road. IMO the fact that this isn't safe is just propaganda. Its a Leitch stand FFS - at Fulham the Leitch stand is a listed building. We should take the iron cladding off it, re-point the brickwork and show it off for the treasure that it is!

Always argued that Goodison should seek listed status and apply for heritage funding to go towards restoration of certain parts, would contribute towards regeneration of the old girl.

But that takes initiative and investment, words missing from the lexicon of the world's greatest living evertonian and his leeches

Yes but it has to the Billionaires that you would need to take Everton on to compete with City and Chelsea.

Your right there I haven't read a single article, basically because I have a life! And although I run my own business I have never been involved in anything on that scale. I left it to people who had that business acumen and thought it was a goer. People like Tesco and the self made millionaire Bill Kenwright. How many of these large scale business plans have you completed?
I was for Kirkby at the time just out of sheer desperation but thank god we didn't move. The plans itself weren't too bad however when you consider that this will be a move that will last 50 years it needs to be right and Kirkby was a cheap Ikea stadium taking us away from the area. We can and should do better.

That said I think there's loads of people who would only be satisfied if we redevelop Goodison into a world class stadium which maintains the character and tradition of the old ground. There's no way that will happen due to cost and lack of room for facilities.

We need to build a new ground, a traditional football stadium inspired by Goodison and not a bowl. It has been done by other clubs and it looks like we have found the right location so lets hope we can all get behind this one.

....really, that would be sensible. I keep mentioning it but thought Wally Hall Park was the only place being looked at. Edge Lane is so practical, it's also less contentious in not utilising public park space. The area is a bit of an eyesore and needs a project of this kind. Sentimental link that the land was the site of the old Littlewoods building.

Yeah, Walton Hall Park is the only option at the moment. I think the edge lane site would work, but I think the council approved plans to use it for something else;

Goodness me, so not only are we not allowed to leave Liverpool, we now have to stay in L4?? That really is limiting our options.

We don't play in Everton now, so I don't see why it matters so long as we remain in Liverpool.

Well would you go to say Speke, or how about that bit of land near Tonwsend Avenue, it is in Liverpool. Walton Hall Park is in L4 so that is okay. Me, could say I am a traditionalist and the only time I contemplated moving out of L4/Walton was Kings Dock.

Seriously couldn't care less. The club is not defined by it's location. I don't think the club relies on being in Liverpool (it certainly doesn't exploit it like the other side, not that we need to), and could exist pretty much anywhere, if you ask me. A move out of Liverpool would probably see the RS crowing about having evicted us from the city, and the notion of the derby would probably die, but I can handle it. We don't need the RS, we have our own identity.

Agree, though I'd leave both the Bullens and The Street End in tact, upgrading and expanding the Park End and Main Stand, so giving us a mixture of the old/traditional and the modern. Perfect. 50,000 capacity. Only in the PL are clubs obsessed with massive, 60,000 capacity stadiums. Massive clubs in Europe eg Juventus (and, in the future, AC Milan) have moved from larger to sub-50,000 capacity stadiums.

Totally agree as well on removing the rusting cladding on the exterior. So cheap and ugly compared to the grandeur of what's underneath.
