New Everton Stadium

Quick check.
Archibald Leitch Wikipedia (ye i know)
Shows the Bullens rd as Mauretania Stand....thought i seen it somewhere lately.
An old blue i knew always called it that years ago.

Interesting...Obviously I wasn't around then so I don't know, but most other sites say it was the Goodison Road:

What a shame the old Main Stand was demolished -- an architectural masterpiece. It's not even as if the replacement was any good -- bland, no attempt to make it any way fit with the rest of the ground at that time, and, to top it all, with obstructions.

The old main stand does look amazing. But as mentioned previously in this thread, the obstructions in the new main stand could be dealt with. The process would be:

1) A new roof would get rid of the big posts at the front, meaning no obstructed views on the top balc or the front of the main stand.
2) A row of executive boxes below the top balc would take the place of the posts there, meaning no obstructions at the back of the main stand
3) Get rid of the lean to exec boxes and reclaim the full enclosure.

I can but dream.

(This was all in the plans presented to the club by architects after Kirkby fell through that I mentioned a few pages back)

edit: Sorry I've just realised you were posting earlier in the thread and have already read and replied to my ramblings, big thread so I've lost track of whos said what.

We might be in Liverpool, but our existence is not intrinsically linked to the city.

Would you stop supporting Everton Football Club if they were to relocate to Warrington (complete random example)?

Glad you did not say the moon, that could have been a bit awkward, just joking friend. But seriously Everton has to stay within the boundaries of Liverpool City , if it moved outside, the City would be surrendered to Liverpool FC who could then claim they are the only club in Liverpool. For me if there is a new stadium it should be in North Liverpool. Not clear where you hail from if you are from Liverpool you would or should understand.

- When Everton first played on Stanley Park it was outside the city boundary.
- When Everton first played at Priory Road it was outside the city boundary.
- When Everton first played at Anfield it was outside the city boundary.
- When Everton first played at Goodison Park it was outside the city boundary.

The city always followed Everton.

Below. Everton at Anfield. The city boundary runs through the current Kop:

Regards the statements put years next to them!
