New Everton Stadium

The Sunday Times Rich List 2017 magazine has Moshiri has the following entry:

"Iranian-born Moshiri, 62 next Thursday, is pressing ahead with plans to build a 52,500-seat stadium for Everton football club...."

That's the first time I've heard that specific number? Seen 50,000 a lot for the ball park figures for the agreement with the council. Have they just pulled it out of the air or do they know something?
I think that was the figure worked around for the initial attempt at scaling and costing the project, no more than that. Things have moved on since then.

52,500 is the capacity of Roma's new stadium being designed by Meis.

Looks like a case of crossed wires.

The Dutch want you as a substitute for Lukaku, whose March to Chelsea is regarded as safe

The great moment of Sandro Ramírez is not going unnoticed and, as already reported SPORT, the front is the object of desire of several clubs of the League and the Premier League.

In Spain, it seems that is the Seville who most interest shows, but in England cobra force Everton who has travelled in person to his coach, Ronald Koeman, to spy on the exblaugrana in the match played on Sunday in the rose garden between the Malaga and Celta.

Accompanied by the representative of the player, Ginés Carvajal, Ronald Koeman could not only follow the evolution of Sandro but also begin negotiations to get his services next season.

Sandro clause is just six million euros and Koeman wants to replace Lukaku, whose March to Chelsea is already given by virtually made after rejecting the offer of renewal of the Liverpool club.

Sandro arrived in Barcelona from Malaga and has scored 15 goals in 28 games for Malaga. Thirteen are in the League and two in the Copa del Rey. Their performance, which has risen after the arrival of Michel, has attracted interest from clubs English as Koeman Everton or Tottenham's Pochettino.

I presume this should be in the transfer thread? Rather than the stadium thread?

Cobra Force Everton, like the sound of that.

The FA are more likely to go on cold hard facts of how much income can be generated and if they had 4k extra seats and probably more corporate facilities then ours may look better, but they would use the hole punch.

You're spot on, but I can't see Mr Moshiri being so small-time as to go for less than 60,000. He will want us to compete with the likes of West Ham and Tottenham.

Capacity would not be the only consideration. A stadium in a redeveloped docks vs a run down resedential area would be a factor. At would cups the fan zones are big part of it and you could have a great one near our stadium. In fact if you look at all the other north west stadiums the locations are not that great

To be fair Anfield has a massive park next to it that's perfect for homogenised FIFA festivals of plastic.

World Cup, Commonwealth Games whatever, none of it should, and I'm certain it won't, enter our thinking.

4000 seats would be irrelevant. It would be a choice between a brand new up to date stadium in a prime location and a shed in the middle of a horrible run down area of the city.

It shouldn't but remember the historical argument that it's world renowned. Like it or not players and people who make decisions to give tournaments will factor that in. Unless we suddenly start winning pots drawing attention to our new home, I don't think it will generate much interest outside of Liverpool if it's not bigger or as expensive as Spurs and Chelseas new homes. It will just be oh! another new stadium. (unless there is a USP yet to be revealed)

I would have thought that if such a tournament took place in England it would most likely be that the city of Liverpool would be a host city, so both our stadium and their stadium would be used.

The new style world cup would have 16 groups, and 80 games in total, so I think if England were hosting most of the premier league grounds with over 45,000 capacity would be used at some point

The Euro's have 8 groups, so you would probably get 3 groups based in London, then groups based in; Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Yorkshire and the North East.

If you look at Euro 2016 only 4 of the stadiums hold more than 50,000, how new and well maintained the stadium is, is probably more of a factor.
