New Everton Stadium

Celtic have the Green Brigade.Ajax had VAK 410 before they were merged in with the F Side. What about a singing/standing area of the ground like what they have in Celtic Park?Or is Everton above all this european ultras style atmosphere with megaphones and drums nonsense that Celtic and Rangers try to copy?

It's possible we could alternate with the other lot, generally unless you are in a massive city (i.e. london) only one stadium is used.

Still would be nice to get a quarter final, you would think Wembley, Old trafford and Spurs new WHL will get one that will leave us fighting with:

Chelsea (approx. 60k)
Arsenal (60k)
West Ham (poss. up to 66k)
Man City (approx. 61k)
RS (approx. 60k)
Newcastle (52k)

Bit of a come down going from a semi final to having a tooth and nail fight to get further than the 2nd round.

I was at that semi in '66! The good old days! Hah.

I just looked it up too. And in that Bertie Mee period of 1966-1976, the lowest average attendance was 26945, so under 20k could not have been that regular.

If 26,945 were a mean average: the maximum number of <20k attendances would be 13 ( insisting the remaining 8 home games were played in front of a full house)

If 26,945 were a mode average : the maximum number of <20k attendances would be 19 ( insisting the remaining 2 home games were played in front of a crowd of 26,945)

If 26,945 were a median average : the maximum number of <20k attendances would be 10 ( insisting the remaining 11 home games were played in front of a crowd equal to or greater than 26,945)

I find it bizarre that anyone sees Leeds as a big club because they've spent forty eight seasons in the lower divisions and they aren't even 100 years old yet. In two years time, if they're not promoted, they'll have spent HALF of their history in the lower divisions, some of that being the third tier. They've had one good era I think. One team cities should be well supported too and they still fall short of ours.

Have a look at some of the teams who've spent more time in the top division than them, it's laughable really.

Leeds United have only won a third of the number of league titles that we have won.

And they've barely been in the top-flight, as you say.

I could never consider them a big club.

The evidence shows that new grounds everywhere add typically 25% on to attendances. So just to allow for that means a minimum capacity to cater for 50,000. And that's without achieving improvements in results or trophy-winning. Throw that in and we'd look to be catering for 60,000. Now, if the plans are for 4,000 corporate/hospitality seats then we're up to needing in excess of 60,000.

Excellent post. We could easily get crowds of 60,000 on a regular basis in a new state-of-the-art stadium. And I'm sure Mr Moshiri has the foresight to realise that.

We don't want to end up with a 53,000 all-seater shed like Newcastle United. And I don't think we will.

I have a lot of confidence that our new owner will get this right.

I want the 4th grace. I want the 3rd cathedral. I want ten pillars on Goodison Approach to represent our 10 championships ( that's right, the old lady needs to see one more before we go). I want statues of Dixie, Young, the holy trinity and Hickson. I want a blue wall by the river emblazoned with the legend, "On the banks of the royal blue Mersey..."

I want a stadium that makes the delegates from Fifa and Uefa wet themselves with anticipation of getting their events staged. I want the stadium to be beautiful and be the standard against what every other stadium is measured against. I want the next Guggenheim to be positioned next to as nothing else is so architecturally avant-garde in the world.

I want it to catalyse the area and city just by being there in all its magnificence. I want the world to turn its eyes and gaze upon this marvellous new wonder and dream of seeing it in the flesh.

No pressure Mr Meis but nil satis nisi optimum.
