New Everton Stadium

So you're saying exactly the same as me.
Have been pretty much since the end of the summer window.

I'm less pessimistic about the stadium, but I blame that on being a supporter since '09 and missing the majority of King's Dock/Kirkby fiascos. I also seriously question Moshiri's intent on the pitch. So far it looks like a real estate investment to me.

How much will it take to give us an icon though Crusty?

The figure I have in mind is £500-600 million for an iconic stadium. Prepping the dock and its surroundings is going be expensive on its own. Yes, we have a great site, but there is always a 'but' with Everton.

There will need to be additional funding because we will be getting a large greenhouse if its just £300 mil.

Correct, imo.

Where that might come from, I have no idea. But a few options could be a shared funder alongside whoever fills up the LCC £300m, an optimistic naming deal involving whoever that might be either paying the lot upfront, (unlikely), or actually becoming a partner in the ground.

Club borrowing, or Moshiri having, er, "contacts" that can operate at an arms length.

Would be my guess.

Exactly this, and all supporting comments confirm this, investment developers etc its like we are being dressed up for a sale further down the line

Yes, this is in the back of my mind as well. It is very clever

Yes they do. Somebody posted a link to a promo film on their website pages and pages back and they are heavily involved with providing steel for lots of stadiums currently being built in Russia. Anybody care to repost the link?

As has been pointed out before, the £300 million is the figure to be borrowed using the SPV created with LCC. Does not mean that is the final price for the stadium. There might be other loans involved, not to mention a huge amount to be earned from naming rights. Let's just wait and see, eh?
