New Everton Stadium

The very opposite mate. I'm just a counterbalance to the "let's accept what The Mosh says" brigade.

I dont trust him and neither should anyone else.
Why don't you trust him? What has he done to cause this lack of trust?

I'd understand if your stance was "I'm neither for or against him, I'm awaiting to see if he fulfills his promises"... But to say you don't trust him ?

Worst net spend for three seasons under "the Mosh". He's now set up a deal for Everton to be in debt for 40 years - a deal that gives him maximum value to his shares without any risk.

That's why I dont trust him.

Hasn't the much discussed "net spend" been debunked & it doesn't really matter? He's only been here for one season mate.

I see "Moshiri sets up a deal for Everton to build an iconic stadium on the waterfront"

You see "Moshiri sets up deal for Everton to be in debt for 40 years"

I understand we shouldn't be gullible and accept everything he says / does like he's our knight in shining armor. BUT we're making a lot of progress off & on the pitch.

As far as i'm concerned, you're the only person with this "40 year debt" issue. Nobody else either fan / pundit seems to be concerned by this agreement other than you. Now you're either very smart (mehhh) or you're seeing things from a glass half empty perspective. I'm afraid i agree with the latter.

No.

If we sell Kone for 100m & buy Van Dijk, Keane, (Great GK), Great Winger etc.... to the amount of 100m. Then the net spend becomes irrelevant. The net spend is not a true reflection of the progress of this club.

Of course, Kone isn't worth a carrot. However, if we sell a player (Stones) for example, yet improve the squad. That's all that matters.

Is this some counter intuitive argument?

I dont know what that even is.

But if you dont trust him cos he wants to use his connections, and nouse, to get us an ace stadium, whilst leaving his own cash available, if needed, for team matters, rather than locked into bricks and mortar, then yes. It is.

I have explained to you the how these wheels work mate. He is using them to get the ground.

The debt you have seized upon is of miniscule risk to EFC, and hence, to the likely funder(s) of said stadium.

I mean, you could start outsmarting yourself and say that if it all seemed too good to be true then it probably is. Moshiri doesn't appear to be perfect, but still seems to be pointing us in the right direction, which to some may be a comforting guard against the Venky's type owners.

To me until he actually buys us some players or work begins on the ground everything is in a cautious holding pattern. I also tend to not trust rich men with opaque motivation.

Barkeep: Fancy a beer?
Dave: No, I'll just hate how it tastes anyway.

Doctor: And with this new treatment your illness is in remission.
Dave: Not having this. I liked the old treatment better and I want it back.

Mrs. Dave: Great news honey, I'm pregnant!
Dave: Now we'll be in debt for 18 years.

It is. It's a reflection of the progress of all clubs in their effort to get top four and win trophies...as all the data underlines.
