New Everton Stadium

its still entirely relevant, especially to that poster considering he didn't know about the Kirkby failings never anything before that.

When people defend Kenwright the same points are always going to brought up.
Like a broken record just gets repeated time and again usually when the teams not doing too well.
He's made mistakes , havent we all.If anyone supports him they are accused of being Happy Clappers.
As Chairmen/ Owners go we could have done a lot worse,go ask Leeds Birmingham & even Rangers fans.
Dont buy this "Blame Bill" for anything and everything.Until the Sugar Daddy comes along it is what it is.

A debate? Is Billy Liar putting on a Brian Rix farce at the Everyman called The Docklands.

Our Chairman was the bloke who was offered the best house in the street at a decent price, on easy terms from the bank, made a confirmed offer and promised to make the deposit on monday morning. But on monday he had something else to do and turned off the phone.

On Tuesday Billy Boy said he there would be no problem, that the money from his aunt was ringfenced and that he would deliver on Friday. On Friday he had something else to do. Repeat for a month.

Now Billy Boy has seen this really hot plot of land or maybe there are two plots, who knows, that he fancies and do we think he should make an offer?

I dont think that's true. The cash pouring in from revenues makes it a very lucrative business regardless of stadium build. By the time the foreign tv revenue is added to the pot it'll be about two and a half billion quid going to the PL each season, with each club getting about £35M for each of the three seasons just from tv cash. The rules in place are going to severely cut the amount of this revenue that can go on players wages and agents fees. The need for a new stadium wouldn't complicate matters if the club in question was solid and guaranteed to retain PL status. It'd be a hassle for incoming owners to deal with, yeah, but not something that would be put a road block on a deal.

However FFP basically restricts teams from spending more than they earn. When teams like Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham have larger grounds than us they will overtake us pushing us further down the pecking order and less TV money. They essentially would be buying a depreciating asset whatever why you want to look at it with the risk of a nightmare scenario of losing premier league status.

However if the stadium is built or being built that changes everything. This is when investors like to buy. When the hard, risky work has been done and things are straight forward.

The fact Aston Villa haven't had a sniff of interest despite openly being on sale for many months really makes me doubt anyone is desperate to buy Everton and give Kenwright & co. what they want.
Exactly even with a stadium I think we're on our own. FFP doesn't even allow a sugar daddy to come in now and buy a squad so it loses it's importance.

We either build the stadium within the next 5 years or we're playing in the championship within 10 years. That's the reality.

Its 10 months and counting waiting for the announcement for a debate about a new stadium. Can`t see it getting built anytime soon.
These things are never debates. If it happens it will be "We've done all this work. This is our plans. Take it or leave it" - btw you're only option is to take it.

Sure there will be discussions about everything but ultimately the decisions will all have been made.
