But I get what you are saying, why pay for something when someone else can for you.

I can't think of any club in our league or Europe that's financied their new stadium out of their own pockets?

It would be a terrible business decision for anyone to do that.

Yet the Board are still dependent on a handout from somewhere or someone. That seems to be their plan it appears.

Its called 'risk mitigation'

The club wants partners to share the risk.

Its poor business management to take on extreme risk.

The issue is its also poor business management to accept BS and failure as acceptable. Or continued delays. this too is becoming an EXTREME RISK to the club.




In no world with this influx of tv money is it acceptable for us to not go for it. (Stadium construction)

We could go in a very poor long term direction.

Obviously. Hence that is how we've gone about it with the regeneration plans with new social housing and freshening up WHP with new leisure facilities. But nonetheless, people always raise a furore about taking up greenspace, and the bitter kopites will quite happily jump on those bandwagons.

Naming rights =/= as someone who financed. Citibank did not fund the stadium for the New York Mets(baseball). The Mets funded the stadium, they get money from naming rights
