New Everton Stadium

I don't see why every single thing regarding the stadium needs to be public. When there's an update, we'll get one.

We've made news public in the past and its come back to bite the Club on the arse; Leroy Fer, the failed Stadiums are just a few things to mention, so why would the Club make this Public when there's nothing concrete yet? We may get planning permission etc, but it's clear we don't YET, so why tell everyone news that's dependent on a concrete decision when there's a risk involved?

They appear to be moving forward with discussions over minor details. There really should be nothing to discuss with the council because they are so onboard with it and there'll be no obstructions from their end. The regional plan wont be an issue as it was with DK. That leaves only outside agencies like heritage conservation organizations as possible present roadblocks to negotiate....OUTSIDE of the financial package that was cobbled together in a few garbled paragraphs in last years council executive report.

It looks flaky to me. The whole project looks on hold and we only ever get info from some equally flaky U.S. architect on his twitter account.
Dan Meis has used Twitter to promote himself & his business. Why go live with a blog & then not update it on a regular basis? I think you are right about finance Davek. If head of terms was agreed so long ago, why hasn't it been signed yet? Just a genuine question. Even Anderson says nothing about it anymore.

And to be fair, if it is about how this deal is set up I'd welcome a pause for thought. I've criticised the terms of the deal since it was first mooted last March. It looks to me like it leaves this club over-exposed for decades. That cant be right.

Haven't bothered looking into this further, but wouldn't surprise me...

Everton Twitter, at it's finest there.

Dave, there is nothing about the stadium that is on hold. Things take time and when they all fall into place allowing a more formal presentation, we will all find out about it. I'm not sure why you take the view that you do.... years of Evertonian experience, a miserly outlook, or just pure WUM, but there will be a stadium built at Bramley Moore Dock, and Everton will be playing there, they will also be playing there for the 2021/2022 season all being well during the construction phase. You are panning the club for not saying enough, but calling the Architect flaky because he's engaging with the fans. If you don't like the style of that engagement, then fair enough, but you cant hate that he's doing it, if you hate on others for not.

A giddy stadium designer tweeting bits and pieces of "info" he's largely responsible for generating himself is different than wanting solid news from the club. There is no contradiction there.

That solid news has dried up, btw.

The responsibility of this club is to keep everyone informed, no matter what stage this is at. You surely cant be saying that it's right that these people last March came out giving us fireworks and the full bells and whistles announcement about this stadium scheme and then subsequently offer nothing other than an aside once or twice since?

Their communications are abysmal. If I and others are now doubtful about the realisation of this scheme you shouldn't be complaining about us, you should recognise that the club has a pathetically Victorian "them and us" mind-set that needs an enema to clear out in order to engage with its fanbase.
