I think the stadium will be right up there in UNESCO's list of disapproval. However, they seem to be more exercised by the high rise element, so there's room for persuasion on a stadium if it can be shown the designs wont be so gaudy and modernistic that it makes a mockery of the theme that's secured WHS in the first place.No one should downplay that fact but again I believe that has way more to do with the glass skyscrapers than a stadium which will not be the thing that drastically changes Liverpool's skyline or blocks the view of the three graces from the river. The closer to those the more the problem becomes magnified so being the furthest over must help.
If the council nob UNESCO off then it all becomes a lot easier. However, it does seem they want them kept onside and to have the development AND continued WHS for the waterfront.
