New Everton Stadium

The years and years of a lack of vision from the board have meant that we've been standing still while other clubs have grown off the pitch. It won't be long before this catches up on us.

The board does not care as long as we stay in the prem. We're 10th so there's still at least another good decade of dangling a carrot of hope to pacify the fans whilst we slip quietly down the table. Kenwright keeps his free play thing. Elstone keeps his stress free job for life, counting record profits in and making them disappear into operating costs. Clubs like Stoke and Swansea have more ambition than us. Our board (and manager) treat Europe as an inconvenience, and do nothing but peddle excuses as to why we can't be successful.

......there is an obligation to think strategically, it's not just for the moment it's for the generation to follow. That obligation is on everybody associated with our football club.

lets not rush this...

I very much doubt if we will see a new stadium this side of 10 years. We just do not have the finds and as far as I can see no way of generating them.

Possibly paying off the current overdraft will be the priority and that might consume at least two years worth of the new TV deal, even allowing a small amount being given for team building.

The potential excuse being that a club with no debt is more attractive to potential investors/buyers and the presupposes that there are actually any interested potential investors/buyers... and if there aren't, then a debt free club can pay bigger dividends to its shareholders of which the board will be the biggest beneficiaries.

How many times do you need to be told that the club have been handed £30million plus per season just from TV rights.

Depending on the interest rate even this board of carpet baggers could pay off the cost of the new Juventus stadium within THREE YEARS.

That goes on players like last summer. Add to that how is it in the Elstone article there is a question of funding by reference to increasing the club's debt.

with all respect...if everything would be simple as that i would probs be the president of the united states

At the end of the day.

We aren't paying the debt off yet not generating more income through outside ventures so the club is stagnating year on year. The fans are never going to really oppose kenwright until the crown jewels are sold so it's all just pointless hoping for the impossible

£35m per season from tv revenue.

Where's it gone? Where is this seasons £35M going? Not a stadium. Not paying down an outstanding securitisation debt as it can't be paid off in bigger instalments than the one agreed. Players? Unlikely...very unlikely. The Vibrac bridging loan doesn't go away, it gets renewed and paid interest on each year.

So where is it going? Where's the last three seasons bumper influx of cash gone to?

Our club's major shareholders have a lot of questions to answer. No wonder they scrapped AGMs.

Technically we've not even been standing still. Our commercial growth is something like 2mil since 2003 or so which inflation outpaces so we're even worse off than before.

NONSENSE this. This is 2015 not 2008

The club is being thrown tv money. Can't spend it on wages due to premier league rules.

How many times?

Quite simply: what are you basing this on? Its like you completely and willfully ignored the fact that the Sky money is going to be going from 0 to 35mil to 80mil in 5 years.

Same stuff different day, no cups ,no new stadium, no ground improvement, were little old skint Everton, said it near a decade ago on kipper this lot will turn us into the likes of stoke just making up the numbers happy to be in the prem.
Bills and co biggest achievement is the they have the fanbase thinking that way to, and thanking them for it
