New Everton Stadium

He clearly has does loads. The stadium design is almost certainly complete or nearly complete, it's just that the club hasn't released the details yet. It's not up to him to release the plans.

Still, lets not let facts get in the way of bed wetting.
Where did this info come from ?

Exactly
No point in releasing plans till Finance is in place.

Finance wont be in place completely until planning permission has been granted (and we know how much we need to borrow), which wont be granted before statutory and public consultation has been complete. The issues at the moment are getting as many statements of common ground signed off as possible with stats (English heritage mainly). Plans will be made public just before the planning application is made, no earlier, the reason being is that they may change.

Then agreement will be needed with councillors on S106 contributions… i.e. Everton contributing large amounts of money to public infrastructure (rail/parking/road/housing etc.)....

"Buildings need to be right-sized for their markets..." = No point in spending on a 61,878 stadium if you cant fill it on a regular basis
54,000 it is then
I too read that as another hint that capacity will be short of expectations. No trophy in 23 years but sell outs every week, home and away, and they're still not forecasting a demand for a 60,000 stadium -- pathetic. We're still small time.

He continually references West Ham's stadium.

West Ham didn't build their stadium, they were in effect given it.

Huge difference.

Forget West Ham anyway - who cares about West Ham?

Maybe start benchmarking against Spurs - their new 62,000 stadium is looking fantastic.

Meis may be PR savvy, he may broadcast himself getting a llittle Everton tattoo an have a pint in the Winslow - but his firm should be under the same level of fan scrutiny as any other. It's too important. Still very much this;

Disagree Finners.

Fans are rightly passionate and should right to voice their opinion without being sneered at;

Keep seeing people sneer/brush off Evertonians as being audacious/cheeky to actually question an 'expert' - what nonsense.

On capacity he's regularly dangled a carrot of 60,000+

But now, we have Everton with their 99% of fans want a capacity of over 50,000 line followed by Meis downplaying capacity, and about him knowing what size is right for Everton (shouldn't that be dictated to him?!), with him accusing fans of having 'size envy' and pointing to West Ham who inherited a stadium.

The fanbase can't afford to be placid because of the novelty of having someone at the club engage with them on twitter, or because they want access to him for interview.

Urgh...

Nah mate, realistic.
They'll have done the sums based on the waiting lists, new stadium bounce...all sorts.
Given that the site has finite limits/footprint, they will also have a handle on the costs of putting in those extra 12 - 14% seats to bring it up to the magical 61,878.
The rumour is that those last 7878 cost proportionally a lot .more than the first 7878

Quality
Cost
Time/Speed
Its very hard to get all 3

eg, you might get quality but you have to trade off against time and money. Now time is some what open ended, but there's a limit on how much we will have to spend...this will affect build size and the final standard of finish

You can put a 61878 quart into a 54000 pint pot, but it'll cost you big time
