New Everton Stadium

I passed thorough the City today down the A59, Scottie Road. Noticed immediately a huge area of land clearance on the left, not clear what was to be developed. But I though to myself there is the space for a new stadium and Scottie Road would be a great location.

Anyone have any info on this development?

Not specifically mate, but its an annoyance when people quote figures that are misleading.

Im Not trying to mislead mate, there is a lot of talk by people that the Board are paying off the debt at the moment and as you probably know that is clearly not the case.

Most people look when asking about the debt figure just want to know how much we owe to the banks etc, they then read the headlines in the accounts that the 'debt' has been reduced to £28m whatever the Net figure is and defend the board by saying they are paying down the debt.

I dont have a problem with the debt figure (gross or net) as it is atm in relation to our turnover but people simply refuse to believe that borrowing increased in the last accounts. Its the fans saying we are reducing the debt which is far more misleading than saying the debt is £49m

Why don't we just close this thread, it's never happening. It'll go silent and drift away.

You're just clogging up the first page lads, i want to read more about Osman and Joel

We could have got a stadium on there right in Town with plenty of parking, but no we are to be shovelled off to a backwater off the East Lancs Road aka Walton Hall Park.

The board does not care as long as we stay in the prem. We're 10th so there's still at least another good decade of dangling a carrot of hope to pacify the fans whilst we slip quietly down the table. Kenwright keeps his free play thing. Elstone keeps his stress free job for life, counting record profits in and making them disappear into operating costs. Clubs like Stoke and Swansea have more ambition than us. Our board (and manager) treat Europe as an inconvenience, and do nothing but peddle excuses as to why we can't be successful.
Steady on, you can level a lot of criticism at Martinez but it's a complete falsehood to say he didn't give Europe a proper go this season.

That would involve actually paying for the land used rather than begging for free scraps from the council
