New Everton Stadium

Im pretty sure Blue Bill was some way involved with Goodison for Ever-ton which put forward a plan to upgrade Goodison
your not saying it was a fib are you?
If he was, then all you can say is he was wrong possibly for emotional rather than objective reasons.

Your right about Anfield, and that shows FSG have limited ambitions with the s---e, the wont pay top wages, and Liverpool probley will never win the Premiership again.
It's beginning to look that way with FSG so be careful what you wish for in a new owner. Most business men are looking to make money.

I'm not disagreeing with @davek I just don't think you can name too many examples of clubs not self financing where it either hasn't worked at all or hasn't gone pair shaped at some point. Chelsea and City got lucky.

Every businessman is looking to make money though.

God forbid if we get someone like FSG in, I would be disgusted that someone was willing to invest circa 150 million into renovating the stadium. Just the new main stand they are building they reckon it will bring in an extra 20 million per season.

Thank god we have Bill, who gave us a Marquee for a bit.

Hip hip hooray.

Liverpool make shed loads more than us in revenue. I believe the only team in England they're behind are Utd. They can fund the stadium themselves.

The fenway group have loaned the money interest free for the work. Since they have took over the commercial revenue has increased dramatically.

We erm....... look at the short term option of 10 year deal with Kitbag to guarantee cash per year and since then every other club is making record deals. Everything outsourced. Training grounds sold off and we lease our current training ground, which the previous owners went bust and we could have been forced to train on Stanley Park if the Council never stepped in bought it.

We could not afford to build it ourselves. A 7 million construction project which we have paid more than that in rent and if we want to own it we have to pay circa 14 million.

The likes of Southampton have recently spent 20 Million on their training ground. Stoke have spent in the region of 15 million on it academy the last few years and have planning permission to increase its capacity on the Britannia stadium.

We loan against future sky money, at one point a few years ago we were actually loaning against TV money two seasons ahead. Like a Wonga loan, but against wages two months ahead.

We are a joke, we will never build a stadium while this lot are in charge.

Liverpool are the 2nd biggest club in England and winner of the top trophy in Europe five times. Yes they where horribly mismanaged as are we but our potential isn't in the same league as their's.

As for the interest free loan. It's financial management. It's like the left hand giving the right hand money. Ultimately the FSG still own Liverpool so they just don't want to burden them with the extra debt probably due to FFP. That would decrease the share value of Liverpool ultimately decreasing it's asset price.

A well run Liverpool can easily pay for a new stadium to be built. A well run Liverpool should be doing the types of recent deals that Utd have been doing.

As for the other clubs. There will always be ones you could pick doing a better job. However the flipside is we could also be Newcastle.

We're somewhere in the middle in terms of board.
