New Everton Stadium

I find that very hard to believe but it's not just that reason.

The reason Goodison isn't feasible is because what we lack is not extra seats or even more corporate boxes. What we lack is a modern ground that corporations want to go to "do business". It would require a complete rebuilding of Goodison and buying up all the neighboring property. Goodison is too old and too scruffy and rebuilding one stand isn't going to change that.

iirc the plans that have been repeated in this thread for a phased development have 2 stands (possibly might be 3 even) being built/renovated without the need for additional property.

Stated at the Casa on Saturday. Trevor Skempton said its down to the club as to how much, infrastructure wise, they would put into it.

Ok so lets go for the middle figure of £35 million.

TS thinks that can be paid out of broadcasting revenues with no recourse to debt?

Did he say how many seats and/or boxes for the new P/E?

Those who are talking about a redevelopment on the existing footprint seem to be ignoring the issue of modern health and safety. While Goodison may be acceptable for use any new ground would need to be more modern and safety conscious in its design. Take a look at the size of gangways and exits in places like the Stadium of Light compared to Goodison. You would struggle to build a 40,000 seater modern ground on the existing Goodison footprint never mind a 50,000+ stadium.

The only way that a worthwhile redevelopment of Goodison could happen would be with the purchase of a large amount of the property surrounding the ground, and that would take years as already mentioned, as well as being expensive.

I know I saw the plans. It doesn't change a thing. I also thought the hotel looked like an eyesore and would never get planning permission.

I like Goodison, sorry but I just do.
That's an honest view. We all do but I don't want to watch a mid-table team at best or struggling against relegation in 10 years time and that's were we're heading.

Basically last season and that would be a good season. I don't want to go back to the 90s.

im sorry but how does it not change a thing? you claim we need to buy property yet there have been plans out there for years that show this not to be the case

@Bluesnapper are these really the plans that the BU proposed for the redevelopment of Goodison at Saturdays meeting?

Because even if we didn't need to buy the property the plans wouldn't achieve what we need. Which is a new modern stadium that we could use to increase our corporate revenue. Simply building more corporate boxes isn't the answer.
