New Everton Stadium

I'm boring myself now.... but the experts say completely the opposite about whether it is practical. The most recent one being Trevor Skempton (who was responsible for the St James Park rebuild).

Regarding the "financially impossible"... well thats a different question. A staged approach re-development is cheaper and more affordable than a new build. But the board can't afford either.
Sorry JE but you're preaching to the converted here. I put 'experts' in inverted commas referring to the GOT experts who tell us that redevelopment is impossible when stadia have been redeveloped up and down the country since day dot. I don't care if we can only afford to re-build one new stand every 10 or 15 years but if we can't afford to build a brand new stadium we need to do something

Barring a massively under-sized and unambitious Park End in 1994, this club (various boards over the years) has done bugger all for 40 odd years and allowed the finest stadium in the land to rot. Coming up with fantasy new stadium proposals every few years that are never going to be delivered just allows the condition of Goodison to get worse

Sorry mate misunderstood you and mistook you for one of the "experts".
Yep agree with everything you say.

The only sensible immediate option I can see given the impasse on nearly everything connected to the Club is to rebuild/extend the Park End (as long as it is compatible with other longer term rebuilding). Increase hospitality choice (for all price tiers) and increase unobstructed seating capacity

Quite frankly this board are taking the piss massively. Some of the obstructed seats on sale are absolutely disgraceful and a complete insult not only to Evertonians but to the 21st century.

If nothing else, surely it wouldn't break the bank to re-roof the Main Stand cantilever style and so get rid of the 3 obstructions holding the current roof up.
This. Doing nothing while we wait for someone to build us a free stadium is absolutely unacceptable. This is EXACTLY the sort of stuff the Echo should be calling the club to account on. The silence from the club on the supposed new stadium and our future plans is a disgrace

That should be looked at but some of the seats in the back of the St End and Lower Bullens are beyond words. Not only is there an obstructed view you have to stand/crouch to see anything at all.

I have to say I am impressed that blue noses have spoke and debated more about this topic both on and off the boards then EFC in 15 months.

That the powers that be at L4 must be wondering how they keep being allowed to get away with it every couple of years.

Still the TV money keeps rolling in and the interest on the loans keeps getting paid out, so everyone is happy at L4.

Not sure expanding into a 10k seater stadium would be that beneficial mate tbf, the rest of it is them building their Finch Farm. Fair play to em though, they are planning for the future.

I think that's brilliant. Any new stadium to me needs a USP and anchoring a sports complex seems a good fit for them.

Much better than building a stadium that has nothing to offer except on match days.

I think what he's trying to say is they can bring together 100 million from somewhere and they're not even in the Football League.

Their owner is a local self made gazillionaire. Invented some eco light bulb or something. All the food at their home ground is organic/free range, there are solar powered all sorts there as well.

He has owned his local club since they were not much more than a Sunday league outfit. Their existing pitch is literally on top of a hill, up a narrow farm track, in the middle of the Cotswolds.

Dale Vince, he could have made a lot more money than he is but invests a lot of his profits into new energy schemes.

Watched a program about him, he was a new age traveller and into his protesting to protect the environment. Done well for himself and a big advocate of renewable energy.

Thats the one. Not that long ago, Forest Green literally played on a pitch with a barrier around it. Quite a job he has done.
