Nothing as Peel already own (?) Liverpool Waters. They would probably lease the land and may even share the construction costs.
Note if they dont own it then the city council will.
That's an awful lot of supposition; I''m not being obtuse but that's why I believe an awful lot of stadium ideas are simply unfeasible or unrealistic.
Peel are openly looking for funding, mainly from China, to help fund Liverpool Waters. Would they really share the costs? Can they afford to do so?
As you mention, Peel may lease the land but at what cost as it is certainly prime land? Is it feasible in the long term? What if they do not?
That is before the actual feasibility of building a stadium in such a relatively confined space. The other side of Regent Road is 99% a no go.
Then there is the whole issue of whether a football stadium would be as financially beneficial compared to retail properties or apartments etc.
I'm not personally having a go if that's how this seems, nor am I against the idea of waterfront stadium. I'd bloody love us to be in such a position.
However, I just cannot see it as a feasible option based on our financial position and other factors. We need to look without our blue blinkers.
The Kings Dock scheme would have been amazing, yet we cannot dwell on the past.
