New Everton Stadium

Flies in the face of the recent years of "affordable ticket pricing" policies don't you think ?

Let's build a shiny new stadium with a bigger capacity and then price the tickets over what most might be reasonably be able to afford... to justify the claims we couldn't fill 60,000 ???

When the case has clearly been made for 60,000 with massively increased numbers of "premium priced" corporate seating that could enable continuation of the admirable "affordable ticket pricing" policies albeit with moderate increases.

I just think its very naive to assume there wont be ticket price increases at some point.

Maybe not drastic 1s, but they dont have to be massive to price certain fans out.

I mean im currently paying 700 notes for me and the boy, thats on the edge of what I can afford.

Affordable ticket prices at a ground thats free isnt a problem, but if we want to maximise revenue, theres gonna need some tweaking.

Absolutely accept there will be price rises at some point, but at 52k without significant increases in the number of “premium” seating those rises could be steeper and quicker than expected.

The CEO will likely have some explaining to do justify going against what she’s said previously.

The big issue is 52k needs about 5-6k “premium priced” seating and that would only give us an extra 7-8k total capacity over what we have now.

The case for 60,000+ remains.

5-6k premium seats?

Not happening sadly.

The designs 'slipped out ages ago, just nobody chose to believe them. Also helps that the Architect is in the US and the main consultancy are using their South West team. Also, they did have a Manchester team as local architects, but seems they have binned them off for a London team.
Shepard Robson
Downsized now I believe
Just like the stadium has been.

Half of those going to the tin mine would come to ours if it was more swish. Not much loyalty in the corporate box world.
Splendid sentiment but highly unlikely.
The RS are one of the worlds most successful and famous clubs with all the cachet that status brings ,sadly.
Corporate likes to rub shoulders with success and pays for the privilege.

I'm not so sure. The quality of the venue will also be a factor. Anfield is not a very attractive area, and a bit more remote from city centre hotels etc. If they do the job properly I think we can make inroads into the corporate market.

I agree on this, but a lot of those corporate types dont get the football, the history and who is doing what. Its about an event for them, a one off thing, like idiots who go to the Grand National, once a year types.

What we need is a serious PR team who can sell the stadium, not Everton, but its the stadium your coming to.

I've said this lots of times but something which tends to get overlooked on here is how good the facilities will be for the ordinary fan. I spend next to nothing all season inside GP. Give me decent facilities to get a pint and I'd spend £25 per match (before, half time and after the match). That times lots of fans spending lots more money 19+ times a season is not to be sniffed at. I am expecting to pay more for my season ticket to enable me to spend far more on a match day. I don't have a problem with that, personally.

Agreed, decent bar, reasonably priced. TV with other games on. I will happily be there before and after the game. This is the way ahead. A whole day experience
