New Everton Stadium

I'm not so sure. The quality of the venue will also be a factor. Anfield is not a very attractive area, and a bit more remote from city centre hotels etc. If they do the job properly I think we can make inroads into the corporate market.

Potential new businesses relocating to the Liverpool dock development will definitely be interested in in corporate /executive suites.

That's why I was a bit gutted channel 4 chose Leeds's over us.

They probably couldn't see enough progress in the city, after all it has taken Peel a long time to get this project going, which is why I am confident the stadium will be built. It will be the catalyst for the wider regeneration of this area.

Apart from it being next to a sewage plant it is also the reason why we got the land on a peppercorn rent.

Stadium will create infrastructure and transport links, which will result in investments and structures. There's probably already some in development stage now.

Also, channel 4 went for Leeds due to getting HS2 I believe.

They said it was the transport links that scuppered it despite being a favourite location

I agree on this, but a lot of those corporate types dont get the football, the history and who is doing what. Its about an event for them, a one off thing, like idiots who go to the Grand National, once a year types.

What we need is a serious PR team who can sell the stadium, not Everton, but its the stadium your coming to.
I'd take it one step further, its actually a day out at The Premier League you're selling.
Businesses buy these to impress or reward clients...if I spent a lot of money in one quarter with supplier 'A' I got an afternoon at the Gabba for the cricket, or some such.
You're basically selling them a day out with free food and piss.

PR 101; You sell the sizzle, not the sausage.
The rs, sell the anfield / premier league sizzle, with the banners, flags and yes, even the dirge, not the crappy run down L6 sausage.

Edit; but the reputaion of the sizzle depends in the end on how the team are doing. Businesses will only come for so long on past performance.

Yes of course we haven't got the plum location, but sorting out the northern end will make the rest more attractive. I can also see that HS2 would be a major factor for Channel 4, although it makes you wonder about the true benefits of decentralisation if faster links to the capital sways the decision.

I wonder what plans, if any, are in place to mitigate the odours from the sewage treatment plant.

Can't understand why people make such a big deal over this. It's not as though it runs 24/7, people better connected will know more but I'm sure arrangments will be made whereas the plant will not be operational on match days.

I'm not overly worried as it appears to be an enclosed plant rather than open storage tanks, but I was surprised to see how hard up it is against the site boundary. There will obviously need to be some visual screening at the very least.

The plant treats all the sewage in Liverpool. It runs 24/7. The poo never stops coming!!!

Exactly how odd is it to the stadium. If it's over 200m away it shouldn't be a problem
There will already be odour limits on the plant as part of the planning permission for the recent extension. Whether it works is a different matter, although I am not aware of any issues at present.
