The location is the key, always has been. For me, that's just a generic modern stadium. I dont see it as iconic in and of itself. The waterfront setting though has a multiplier effect on it. It just cant fail to look impressive....with that design, or any other.

So, "just" PP and funding now then....

Agree with that..I expected to see heritage reference inside the ground to the interior of goodison park - a lot of steel, plastic and open sky inside the ground.

This article says the capacity can be expanded to 62k, is there anymore information on that?

Amazing design, has the goodison feel yet with new architecture. I'm blown away tbh. Can you imagine how stunning that would look inside and on the outside especially on night matches lighting up the Mersey. Bring it on

Looks good. Never got the hyper bowl with architects and such bigging up stadium designs. Same happened with Spurs which ended up looking a bit meh. Think this design trumps that but it’s hardly the most iconic design ever.

Spurs looks like a massive toilet seat, this is 100 times better.

Amazing. It looks beautiful, them dirty reds are gonna be as jealous as hell. Looking at the internal pics, I can see how the sound will rise up and then be forced back and then swirl around the pitch.

The matchday angst and fume will be awesome

Only thing matters is what WE think of it , and it looks Bloody Fantastic.
