“No, I don't think so because from the very beginning this owner, and through and through from the club, they didn't talk about revenue and why this was important.
“What I tend to get with a lot of projects is....where the revenue is going to come from. “But in this case, because we weren't being driven by a revenue model, we were being driven by an experience model".
Bizarre answer for a club that's pinning its hopes on a stadium-led recovery.
I think it'll grate with those who wanted a 60K build.
And those people would have been right.
However, the stadium led recovery idea of 10/15 years ago wouldn't work now. Match day revenue just doesn't touch the sides.
The stadium is still key but it's more like a flagship store for a brand.
Which is why you're bang on the money highlighting the location. It is iconic.
