New Everton Stadium

That fly through pod made me feel dizzy.

Interesting to see at the end of it they have the glass so that the executive suite fans can watch the players in the tunnel. I guess they'd then have to leg up to their seat. You'd have have to decide between seeing them in the tunnel or being in the ground as they come out.
I don’t see the attraction myself, watching a load of blokes kick a ball round the pitch is one thing, but why would you want to stare at a load of blokes queueing up in a glass tunnel, looks like the marine life centre.

Meis interview:

You've spoken in the past how the cost of stadiums could become prohibitive due to the demands and expectations of owners – was that applicable here?

“No, I don't think so because from the very beginning this owner, and through and through from the club, they didn't talk about revenue and why this was important.
“What I tend to get with a lot of projects is....where the revenue is going to come from. “But in this case, because we weren't being driven by a revenue model, we were being driven by an experience model".

Bizarre answer for a club that's pinning its hopes on a stadium-led recovery.

I think it'll grate with those who wanted a 60K build.

That depends whether you are sceptical about what the club says its intentions are based on previous failures clouding your judgement, or whether you are on board with full faith in what the club are saying their primary goal is.

If this Stadium reveal had finances or recovery at it's heart, it would be like the Emirates...
This is designed with fans in mind, and rightfully so, it will be our home for over a 100 years, and if money or tourist type interest dries up, an Evertonians experience of going here will still trump some other of the Big 6 teams, because of the location, and this design, IMO.

This design is future proofing for fan experience.

To me this stadium feels like the perfect reward, for a match going blue, just hope success on the pitch also comes along, but whether we can get that too is for different threads.

Kopite friend said you’ll be lucky to get it built by 2025 if it ever gets built!! On another note he’s banged on about how good zaha is for the last two seasons and how he’d like him at Liverpool and why other top teams should be in for him. His response to the news we are in talks....why would he go to you? And they call us bitter.

I think this stuff & plush armchair seats with in seat TV & waiter service is how you get a bunch of corporate hangers on and Tory Sky un-fans to pay £500+ per game so the rest of us can have a seat with unobstructed views, a couple of pints & a pie/burger for £50 per game. If so it is fine with me. We can give them live video from the dressing room and dugouts & on-shirt player bodycams if they will pay another £100 more per game for it as far as I am concerned.

I'd like to be able to expand, even without legislation changing.

I'd be happy with 55k as a starter and then gradually get ourselves up to 62k. I can't see us ever needing a stadium bigger than that, otherwise it starts to look too big for a club stadium.
Yeah. The £52k capacity is the only negative for me. I'd like to think that the restriction is down to engineering constraints rather than financial, but if it can be remedied from safe standing that's good enough for me. At the end of the day it's about being able to facilitate the number of fans who want to attend matches. I'm too old to stand at games now but I'm sure lot's of our younger fans would love safe standing.
