New Everton Stadium

Not disagreeing in the slightest with those on here criticising Esk for excessive negativity, not knowing when to shut up & having a big ego. He’s clearly stuck in a rut with his Everton analysis and alienating many who sympathise with his concerns. However, a fair few of us know him somewhat in real life (he helped found this place after all). He isn't just some crank with a keyboard but a bloke who went from humble scouse roots to being worth tens of millions with homes in New England & the South of France. He has forgotten more about business than most of his critics have ever known.

Agree with the rest of your post, but we do need to be careful suggesting some of the criticisms of @The Esk are born out of any sense of misplaced jealousy. If anything, it makes it all the weirder - if you achieved such incredible things, why spend four years or more lying for internet attention?

Maybe Orly but we also have to be careful using words like lying. I do not know where he got that weird sketch he posted but I do know he texted it to me many months ago. I know EBM folk and possibly others (maybe the Toffee TV guys?) got it from him as well back then. My personal theory is he saw stuff when visiting Meis’ office (which he did for an EBM piece) and after he left made a drawing of something he saw but I do not know that for certain. His ambiguous Twitter post left it open to people to assume it was from Meis but he did not actually say it. He implied/span which is possibly the brass neck hype ‘skill’ that made him personally successful.

FYI, I wasn’t actually trying to imply jealousy as a motive simply that folk have this impression of some crank in underpants typing away feverishly in his room when the reality is totally different. He is a hugely driven, successful guy who travels the world, works 20 hour days and probably sleeps in a suit (I have never seen him not wearing one). He does have good access to some at EFC and to many in and around City, local government. He has told me a lot of things well before they even sniffed it in the media.

We think we can get a read on people from their posts and tweets but the real person is often very different and we should not leap to judge. Something we all sometimes need reminding about.

I like the fella, always got on well with him, still 'speak' with him via Twitter occasionally, but I can't help feeling he's his own worst enemy sometimes and brings a lot of the negativity on himself.
Some of the stuff he posts is fantastic and very informative on club matters. Then there's the guff...

I agree with that 100% tommye and have told him it more than once but if you know him then you know he is what he is, follows his own path, no off-switch, no chill. I do not think he can be anything different.

We're retreading old ground here and in danger of making it The Esk thread rather than the new stadium thread, but I don't think people do go about saying he's not a (clearly vastly) successful individual. And his pre-Moshiri posts on here tended to be pretty decent. To return to my previous point, I just have never understood why he's taken this current approach to the social media stuff. What's the long game here?

Very possibly. It's also probably the reason why he keeps going, even now that his social media presence seems to be just fielding abuse.

Nah, I don't reckon that. If people can't distinguish online persona behind an alias with person-in-reality then they are an absolute danger.

Anyways, new stadium. Very good indeed. Let's have more designs please (preferably not those drawn in pencil ;))
