New Everton Stadium

October (as per Joe Anderson's tweet) is the deadline the Council set Everton to prove that they have funds (£250m plus) and a plan for WHP. If they haven't at that point, the Council are well and truly moving on. As far as I'm aware, it was the Council who leaked Everton's interest in the first place to try and hurry Everton into doing something. Everton's scheme had been to have a loose plan to do something on the land in order to prove to potential investors there was scope for a stadium.
But the Council weren't happy to just let Everton mess about and pretend to do something and keep others waiting - so have tried to force Everton to put up or shut up - hence the leaking of the possible scheme and now the October deadline.

So far there's been no evidence whatsoever that Everton have any genuine/serious plans for the site.

I think we can all guess how this turns out.

Unfortunately that's what I thought when I read Anderson's tweet. Straw and camel especially after this transfer window spring to mind.

We'd get higher attendances in a new stadium, I reckon. There's about 3,000 seats at Goodison where you can't see half the pitch. I think our attendances are affected by that.

Yeah I'm with you on that. We offer incredibly poor facilities for too many areas of seating. It's neither an enjoyable experience nor one that will encourage people to return. Better facilities will most certainly help.

I also rad on another forum that the proposed stadium is very basic. One double tier stand with hospitality, a wrap-around single tier stand and a single large home end. Hearsay but I for one do not trust this shower with any stadium project as I don't think they would deliver quality.

They won't deliver at all, let alone quality.
Kirkby was a plan to get a planning consent for a "mid-range" (i.e. cheap) stadium. Once that was in place, they were planning to sell something with a better book value (the land in Kirbky) so they got a higher price. I don't see how WHP can be anything other than a similar, less controversial, play. This lot couldn't (or wouldn't) raise the money for a fence to ring-fence anything.

Thats exactly what I've heard.

Incredible isn't it? Open corners too except the wrap-around, expecting a single large home end to blind everybody into thinking it's great.

Not that I am expecting anything from this lot but the bar should be set at Juve/Bilbao level surely?

Should just copy the porto stadium mate, know that you where as impressed as i was when we went their
