New Everton Stadium

The issue for the new ground for me is not how good of a new one they can build or where opr when or anything like that.

It is what they are aiming for with the new stadium. Have mentioned it before but we don't sell all our season tickets now, so increasing the capacity up to, for arguments sake 50.000 could leave more empty seats. combine that with the higher ticket prices would price a lot of fans out of the game leaving the ground only 3 quarters full.

The other worry is the lack of marketing initiative the current set up has. So many missed business oppertunities leads me to believe the board wouldn't know what to build to change that. Take the nivea for men advert currently on air. It stars skyrtle, llallana and counthino in full liverpool gear. Not to sound like CM Punk but where is our adverts? Especially with such marketable stars in the sqaud over the years, why has the board not ever pursued this avenue? The three kopites mentioned aren't even household names so its not the player nivea are selling their product off, nor are liverpool the 'big club' they once were so its not the brand being sold either. Same as Ironman 3, with liverpool game being shown, marketing techniques again.

I have rambled a bit there but you get what i mean, there is missed oppertunities and then there is simply no interest or drive to promote the club in any way. Part of me doesn't want a new stadium under these guys, we only get one shot at it and if it's not thoroughly done it will set the club back 50 years in the long run.

Huh? It was?

May have been, but it's hardly the most unreal thing ever. I barely cared as it's not an important moment.

Let's just not bother then.

Thing is.....it's exactly those issues.

Better (and wider ranging) facilities and more people will go and return.

As for location surely you've been aware of a certain recent project and it's failures?

well would you want a half arsed new stadium because the current board couldn't manage the project? one that looks shiney but provides no real gain compared to other new stadiums?

thats the danger here, it's not like we can build a new one in the future again, one shot at building it and it has to be done right, not cheap or half arsed but done right. Otherwise no there is no point.

Still though, come to think of it, we're never in/around films & TV shows...

Sounds like a good idea for a thread!

We are in a few DC comics because of that geezer, but it's quite subtle like this:

Right so now it seems that even if the club have got plans, permission and finances for a new stadium it's not worth the bother because it's not going to be good enough for some people, not only that if they ignore those people who it's not going to be good enough for it's going to set the club back 50 years because our players don't take personal grooming seriously enough.

as i just put to ijjy, we can knock up a stadium in the middle of nowhere but it be exactly what we need and it reaps rewards for us. Whereas we could build one in the middle of stanley park and it be pointless, a waste of money compared to other grounds.

MY point is, can this board effectly deliver a stadium to last us and move us forward in that respect when they cant even manage the club effectively. Once the thing is built, then thats it. If it ends up being not much better than what we have due to shortcuts and cheap options then it is a waste of time for everyone involved.
