maybe we could all these chaps from syria to build it on the cheap? come on bill think outside the box
They're brilliant at knocking down ancient monuments to be fair, does Goodison fall into that category yet?

except designing a training ground and a new stadium are two massively different things.I've just pointed out to you the club designed that in house and it's not half arsed, in fact it's far from half arsed and is in fact one of the best sporting facilities in Europe. Therefore there's no reason to expect them to cut corners and deliver a sub standard stadium as you're predicting.

Regarding the stadium in the absence of facts we can only go on past records. Their last stadium they budgeted for a £78m build. It doesn't take a genius, in the absence of any re-financing or investment, to guess that a similar cheap build is being planned this time too.
Wouldn't it be almost impossible to make a crap stadium too? Like even a Riverside, St Mary's, Pride Park (or whatever it's called now) lego build-your-own identical stadium would do a job.
Not that I want that, but it would do.
It's a really important point that and one unfortunately I'm sure we'll still be discussing in 2020.

the stadium will cost more than the club is worth to build, or it should do anyway. And we can always move training ground if we so wished, the stadium is there for decades to come. so my point is, if we can build 20 corporate areas to rival top clubs but will cvost an extra 20 million to include, or 1 million for 10, the club may go for the 10, as its simply more than what we have now. Therefore over everything in the stadium if they went for the cheaper option each time we could end up with a sub par stadium under the guise of it being better than goodison.
There a massive difference in our finances between then and now.
Is there? Please enlighten us.
Theoretically, yes it will do. It will allow people to go and watch a football match.
But it would have zero to do with the history and traditions of EFC. Does mediocrity really have its claws that deep into our fanbase these days???
It's true.
As 'magical' as Goodison is (I for one, don't actually think it is), it's not sustainable anymore.
We all know this. It's just a crying shame, that Kenwright appears to just be sitting on his basket of eggs, and waiting for himself to peg out to make it someone elses problem. Yes, I sound like a broken record, but I live in Maghull (cue heckling), but when i go running every morning, I can just see Anfields new stand structure, and it makes me sick that we're not doing anything about it, but we're happy to take £41+ off fans for the derby to have views like...

£1 off a non-obstructed view seat. Disgusting.
There's a finances thread for that.
