New Everton Stadium

You don't just charge the extra 10,000 people £50 though
You charge EVERYONE more - even just an extra £5 per ticket brings in well over £10 Million per year extra if average attendances increase by 10,000
I highly doubt they could get away with increasing ticket prices

In a brand new stadium, you wouldn't expect the ticket prices to increase at all? For real?
You forget everton are still very much a workin class fan base. They complain about the prices now so wouldn't be over the moon about them going up even more.

And if anything you'd expect the prices to drop a little with the increased capacity

You forget season ticket prices have gone up £100 in the last 5 seasons!

Yeah you are

Its not £5 x 50,000

Its £5 x 40,000
+ full price of ticket x 10,000

All x 19

Here's the assumptions and calculations:

Assumptions:

New stadium: Capacity 55,000

Average attendance: 50,000 (an increase in 11,000 from today’s attendances)

Ticket prices increase by 10% on existing prices. Every £1 extra per game would generate an extra £1 million per year approximately.

Hospitality: Everton attract 2,000 more hospitality clients per game paying £175 per head

Running Costs – difficult because it’s not possible to say what Goodison costs to run, but I’m going to assume a new ground is more efficient and suggest it costs £2m a year less to run than Goodison.

Naming rights:

A real stab in the dark as it is difficult to get meaningful figures from other clubs but I’m going to go for a figure of £2 million per year.

So, taking into account all of the above match day revenues would increase by approximately £20 million a year, so approximately £ 1 million per match. Total match day revenues would go from approximately £20 million to approximately £40 million.

This is hard going, no wonder you cant see how badly we are run.

TH is an engineer and TS is an architect/urban designer. They work as a pair and each knows what the other is talking about.
We probably need to explain things patiently, again and again, over years even, to those who will not allow insufficient knowledge to interfere with their valuable contributions to debates like this. Dougie for instance may actually well believe that structural engineers play no part in stadia design, although even without direct knowledge of the subject he could have quickly corrected this error by consulting websites such as the institution of structural engineers which says:

Structural engineers are a key part of the design and construction team, working alongside architects and other professionals. Together they create all kinds of structures from houses, theatres, sports stadia and hospitals to bridges, oil rigs and space satellites

To bring in an extra £15 million we would have to sell 2,000 hospitality seats at £175 and approximately 10,000 additional seats at £50 a game.

Personally I think that is a tough ask.

If the average attendance was 50,000 (again a big ask, but let's run with that) for 20 games then £5 extra generates £5 million in extra revenues not £10m mate.

In the model I built I increased all ticket prices by 10%, reduced running costs by £2m and included naming rights at £2m - total revenues would increase by around £1 million a game or £20 million a season if those optimistic scenarios were achieved.

This would be great if the stadium is funded by equity not debt. Assuming we had to and could borrow the sums required, much of the benefit goes straight to the lender if we rely upon debt as the main contributor of finance.

How does that make sense?

making the average price £50 a ticket only draws in £15m but a 10% increase increases revenue by £16m? (20-2-2)

two different scenarios mate:

10,000 x 19 games x £50 = £9,500,000
2,000 x 19 games x £175 = £6,650,000

Total revenue increase = £16 million (not £15m as I approximated) - this was to answer @Adversus point

My model is as follows:

10% increase in ticket prices, plus increase in attendances (39k to 50k) = increase in revenues of £8.3 m (I am not pricing the extra tickets at £50, just 10% higher than today's current prices)

Reduction in running costs = £2 million

Naming rights = £2 million

Hospitality sales increase = 2,000 x 19 x £175 = £ 6.65 million

Increase in net revenues = £8.3m + £2m + £2m + 6.65m = £19 milllion (hence my approximate £20 million comment)

No clue mate, it's not listed well is it.

If only I could afford to pay 300 quid on a football match!
Na very poor.for that kinda money it would want to be making u a nice cuppa tea every morning for a month:)on a more serious note though i presume you get a dinner, good view of the game maybe a few drinks and chance to meet maybe a few ex players if there at the bar.cant think of much else if benefit that they would charge 300 squids.think il stick with my tub of curry chips, obstructed view, warm can of muck and hope to avoid ex girlfriends for 50 squids:)
