New Everton Stadium

The financial deal on the table was unbelievable. It included Everton having half of all admissions revenues from non-footballing events.

Yes! And with Blue Bill at the helm, if it was built, it would have been the cheapest finish and probably already be outdated and looking run down.

A lot has changed in stadium design these last 20 years. While KD defintely beats BMD for the site, in all other ways KD scheme was probably inferior to what we could now be getting at BMD. In some ways i'm glad we're building a stadium now, rather than in the era of the Cellnet Riverside / Stadium of Light etc.

No chance we'd of been able to finance a Goodison Legacy like the one planned now back then either.

Doesn't the Chairman have the Casting Vote?
I’m not sure but I think it’s naive to think Kenwright has no influence. He should not have any role within the club. He’s a big reason why no respect is attached to our name by constantly playing us down as the plucky underdog. I have a genuine hatred for the man but that is for another thread.

Unfortunate picture placement...

I've no doubt that he had a big influence in the purchase of Rooney

If they put season tickets up by 50% I wont be there.
I must admit I’d be hard pressed to afford it too , i was surprised to see us near the bottom of average pricing yet to get us up there with Newcastle for example required a 50% increase . I know we will raise a lot from corporate but the article mentions a survey on ticket prices so will be interesting to see what they are looking at

To be honest mate if you think about it which I just have we wont be there for another 4 years so if you look at it that the season ticket will go up each season, it wont be a 50% increase straight away if you get want I mean.
