New Everton Stadium

Theres no plans currently to alter the timeframe, nor is there an expectation too based on whats known now. That could of course change.

LFC however, immediately after u-turning on Furlough, have halted every single aspect of work on their Anfield road extension 'until further notice'. Makes me think they arent as flush as they would have you believe.

Hope your right and my educated guess is wrong mate, just thought, that with social distancing and such, smaller workforce and more PPE to wear it would slow it down somewhat. Happy to be proven wrong. ;)

Can't find any link saying this. I have found a link that says construction on their training ground has been halted "until further notice", which obviously makes sense.

10 minute edit limit....ok then....

Hmmm.....can't find any link saying this. I have found a link that says construction on their training ground has been halted by the contractor "until further notice", which obviously makes sense.

The Anfield Road End development is still in the consultation stage afaik. I don't think there's any doubt Liverpool can afford it, but with everything shut down it might just be difficult to progress any further. They've also got naturally conservative owners when it comes to stadium development who'll be in no real rush. It'll happen though, I'm pretty sure of that.

For you guys, the planning docs have already been submitted, the ball is in the council's court to get it approved. So your timelines aren't impacted by covid (yet, touch wood etc etc).

It was supposed to love to the next stage last week, but has been halted until the haze is clearer. There have been few clients who have halted consultation work, apart from the ones who have concerns on financial impact on ability to complete.

Theres no shortage of people to do the work on the project as most of it is desk work.

I'm sure it will happen, but they seem to me to be very twitchy. They're also heavily effected by events in US sporting environment

Construction will be among the first elements of the economy to get back to work. Indeed they already have in a couple of continental european countries (Ireland to follow week 2 in May it seems) so UK should be (estimate) 3-4 weeks behind us. Impacts to overall projected timeline in terms of construction then negligible.

I don’t think Liverpool are anywhere near as flush as you think and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a sell to buy approach to transfers this summer. After them not signing last summer that said quite a lot.

Also, they’ve been planning this new stand for nearly 2 decades and it still not happened. Talk up here is they don’t want to do it cause it’ll cost them money, that they won’t really make a profit on. Cause they can only sell standards seats behind the goal, no corporate seating would sell there, the increase in numbers isn’t worth doing and not cost effective. It’s only fan pressure that’s got them to consider it.

The plans they showed recently did look like they included some corporate seating behind the goal, similar to what we currently have in the Park End, day trippers would happily pay the extra to see them. I think people maybe correctwith delays thiugh, hopefully our plans aren't affected too much.

Realistically this situation may actually benefit the ground being built. What council would reject a proposal to create numerous jobs and pump a fortune into the local area after this disaster?
