New Everton Stadium

I have heard rumbles that WHP will probably move forward but that there will be a more serious/less biased look at redevelopment before concluding. I'd be very surprised to hear much before the summer but the sooner we make concrete progress one way or another the better it will be.

With the potential introduction of a wedge for a stadium what are the realistic sites?

Would not personally like Stanley Park as although a new stadium would look better than analfield because of where they are situated they would dwarf us.

Are their any dockland sites still available?

Just a few from me would be:

Festival gardens site but road links may not be able to sustain.

Littlewoods bldg Edge Lane, but as above.

Queens Dock, need a little landfill, available from the knocking down of GP for housing, and good transport links.

Bestway Site, good transport links and a wembley way style approach would make it very unique.

Rupert Lane Gardens, as close to London Road as possible to make it virtually a city centre stadium with our obvious links to this area and looking out of over the city centre.

Thoughts?

Little woods hasn't got enough land imo

If we've got the capability now I'd rather we did it mostly on our own and not have the shops etc round it that come with public funding and make it seem like another identikit stadium.

WHP has great transport links for away supporters, but crap parking like GP, but their is a train line that is still in use close by but know station.

All in all I think a standalone stadium in WHP is the cheap option and if their is an opportunity we should try and get as close if not in the city centre to make us more high profile.

A lot of outsiders do not see us as a Liverpool club as we don't bear the name. However, given a new stadium in the vicinity of the city centre gives us an even higher profile, makes us a stadium that is easily accessible and could be used for other sporting or concert events.

Walton hall Park:(

Docks:)
My understanding is that a Docks in the north of the city option may well be unachievable due to cost. Think I'm right in saying Peel Holdings' Liverpool Waters development has outline planning permission for the scheme as a whole and owns most of the riverside dockland not in use. Think it also owns operates the Port of Liverpool 1&2.
Could try bombarding John Whittaker with plaintive letters, but don't think it'll work somehow.

Correct with regards to Peel Holdings. You never know. Could make a deal on ground rent or to purchase the space outright.

I think it's safe to say at this point that without the investment from Moshiri, this would never have happened and would have been the latest Kings Dock/Kirkby fiasco, if it even got that far.

With the investment, at least we have a chance of something occurring.
