New Everton Stadium

It's also listed and being converted to film studios last I heard.

Yep, the Littlewoods site would never happen, the film studio plan will likely push forward at some point later in the year. Queens Dock wouldn't happen either since it's too close to the Echo Arena and there is a master plan in place for that area that doesn't involve another stadium (there's not enough space there anymore anyway).

I'd love to see a new build on the docks but it's entirely down to Peel if they want to allow it, they have history of just sitting on land for as long as it takes to get the type of deal or development they want, they also won't be in any rush to give it up when there's tons of potential for new grade a office stock being built there if demand picks up for it.

With the potential introduction of a wedge for a stadium what are the realistic sites?

Would not personally like Stanley Park as although a new stadium would look better than analfield because of where they are situated they would dwarf us.

Are their any dockland sites still available?

Just a few from me would be:

Festival gardens site but road links may not be able to sustain.

Littlewoods bldg Edge Lane, but as above.

Queens Dock, need a little landfill, available from the knocking down of GP for housing, and good transport links.

Bestway Site, good transport links and a wembley way style approach would make it very unique.

Rupert Lane Gardens, as close to London Road as possible to make it virtually a city centre stadium with our obvious links to this area and looking out of over the city centre.

Thoughts?

My thoughts on this are, the Festival gardens site is something that I very much doubt is a goer, for much the same reason why it wasn't developed on by the developer who hasn't long handed it back to the LCC. It is a previous landfill site, which, due to the nature of the waste degredation release methane. This is also part of teh reaosn teh festival gardens site became derelict in the first place. The other issue this causes is suitable foundation work to support a stadium, teh ground is a shifting one and would be like building on sand in some areas. Would need very detailed surveys.

The Queens dock is a difficult one also doe to land form of the areas available for development.

Bestway, access and egress is an issue and would need some serious infrastructure rework to make that happen.

For me, one of the best potential sites is Clarence docks, its a huge area of land, will be right next to the muted Cruise liner terminal, where the talk is of starting Transatlantic cruises again. Riverfront location and is already earmarked for development. Only trouble is current access/egress issues, and the lands current owner. Peel. However, the infrastructure rework that would be needed, will be a joint venture then wi the developer and our stadium in order to suit both developments.

What could possibly go wrong?

I think it's safe to say at this point that without the investment from Moshiri, this would never have happened and would have been the latest Kings Dock/Kirkby fiasco, if it even got that far.

With the investment, at least we have a chance of something occurring.
If Moshiri says it's going to happen it will. Let's wait and see.

Why would we want to land lock ourselves in at WHP?
Surely the way to go is to build on the city centre waterfront as a prime tourist spot location.

Peel are looking to create a skyline that the entire world recognises as Liverpool. The new tower that is going up soon, Princes Reach, is just the start of what will become an Iconic view from t'other side. It will become an even bigger draw for tourists and is already in the top echelons of photographed skylines in the world.

More buildings will soon be following Princes Reach and it wont be long until they start the development for the area of Clarence docks we'd be looking to use. We need to make contact wit eh planning consultants early doors so that the idea can be mulled over as a genuine possibility. Again.
