New Everton Stadium

Is it possible this wont be a goer now Joe Anderson has stepped down ? One thing after another with this club
Full of sunshine you ain't you.. he has been arrested in connection with allegations against HOUSING contracts. Will our stadium be a house? No. Is he the decision maker on the planning committee? No. It won't affect our stadium. Maybe delay it a little while new procedures are put in place that's all.

I doubt it, my only concern is that an incumbent want's to work off a clean slate and make sure there is no legacy (positive or negative) left by Joe. He was clearly a big voice in getting BMD down the road.

But I think post covid - ultimately the scale of this project, the employment and investment opportunity are far far to big an opportunity to miss.

Another update would be welcome from the club, even if its contents wouldn't amount to a great deal. Just by way of some assurance.

My view is that Anderson being out of the picture will not do any harm, to whatever extent he has influence anyway, with things being at this stage in the cycle.

Overt backing from a politician can be beneficial in the short-term, but almost never longer than that. Two tribes, football and politics, do not mix.

The development will proceed on its own merits, or not at all. In this environment most particularly, the business and economic case is more paramount than ever.

For me, funding and project management are the two critical aspects in securing delivery. I would always be more skeptical of the clubs capacities in that regard, in their engagement with external parties, over and above the prospect of whether we would get planning or not, or if it is called in.
