Spurs fan here. Good luck with the Council approving the stadium. It looks great and i can't wait to visit. Getting a 21st century ground is great- not that we have been able to go to ours much- and i am sure as with us a necessity for Everton to compete at the top.

logic says it should half the cost of a normal railway, I just don't understand it.

The announcement looks like good news, but the objection of Historic England still worries me. Their recommendation to the Planning Committee says:

For these reasons Historic England recommends that this planning application should be refused, unless the decision-maker concludes that the proposal is shown to be necessary to secure substantial public benefits, and that these would outweigh the harm to the World Heritage Site and other heritage assets. Given the international importance of the World Heritage Site, and the degree of harm which the proposed development would cause to it, we consider that this application should accordingly be determined at a national level by the Secretary of State, and we shall request that it is called in to enable this to happen.

So are we at the mercy of Robert Jenrick? I certainly hope not, although his dad has a Liverpool connection - he was an accountant at Littlewoods.
