New Everton Stadium

Stadium architects love the oval for all sorts of practical reasons but there is a way to get the benefits of an oval access external area with four fully joined but distinct 'stands' internally if you can be bothered spending the money. However, a good oval is arguably better than a bad super-shed and vice versa. Quality is what really matters.

Why? Everyone seems to be getting so hung up on this image/iconic business. GP is only iconic now as the new stadia crop up and the old girl looks like a quaint relic. I very much doubt when it was built the word 'iconic' was at the forefront.

Lets just build a good looking, recognisable, functional, well equipped and appointed stadium with good access, good boozing and good corporate boxes. The rest is sentimental tosh.

you've dismissed the term iconic but included good looking and recognisable in your response.

Go figure

There's nothing wrong with an oval stadium if the design is right e.g. Wembley

But when it's done badly (or on the cheap) e.g. The stadium of light or the riverside, then they're gash.

I think we all agree we should have the 4 stands correct? Not the oval bowl design?

Are we ?

i dont want any kind of squared off job like Ibrox or the Kirkby Shed.

I want it enclosed, smooth & flowing like Juve or Bayern, Lille would have been so much better if it was closer to the action.

for me Juventus & Bayern have set a benchmark with theirs although theres no reason why the ends cant be all 1 without any corporate interuptions.

That's what you can do for £100m

You could not build that here for 100 mill. Also I do not think that on any of the sites suggested there is enough room for that, pity like.
