New Everton Stadium

Isn't that stand the next phase of redevelopment as they have knocked all the housing down behind that stand,IIRC the expansion is 2 phases up to 59000.
I don't know mate, is it? They knocked a lot of housing down though didn't they mate? Most Evertonians wouldn't want that. Not in the way they did it. Wouldn't sit right with us, don't you agree?

I just had a look at some overhead pics of Anfield with the new main stand and there is no housing there at all right behind the Annie Rd stand.

Looks like they have planning permission for when they want to start on that stand if they have knocked all the housing down already.

Liverpool also bought houses on Anfield Road: grander Victorian piles with front gardens, backing on to Stanley Park; almost the whole row opposite the stand, Shankly gates and Hillsborough memorial: 51, 53, 55, 61, 63, 69 and 71. These houses were also left mostly empty and allowed to fall into disrepair.

Don't want to derail a thread about any potential stadium redevelopment for our club, but wouldn't want it if that was the level we'd have to sink to to achieve it.

Annie Rd by the way....

What LFC was disgraceful, we all know that. They are still doing it destroying what was a vibrant area of Walton/Anfield.

No surprise the owners etc are keeping out of sight and making no comment because there is no defence for the way they treated the residents.

Aside from the STHs, it would be interesting to get an idea of our true match-going population. How many are once-a-season trippers from outside the NW or from overseas? How many attend 5+ games a season? How many would genuinely consider buying an ST, and why don't they currently?

I just think the idea that the only thing stopping 60k attending each week is that we don't have 60k seats is rather blinkered.
The evidence from other clubs seems to point to a new/redeveloped ground generating an increase in crowds. Without doing a detailed analytical bit of research to back this up, I'd say off the top of my head that Newcastle Sunderland, Leicester (pre this season), Stoke, Southampton, Aston Villa, Derby, Manchester City and West Ham have all increased their average attendance significantly by increasing the capacity of their ground. Of course, other factors have influenced each one of my examples, but there does appear to be a pattern here.
We'll never know until we try!

Yeah but, knowing that lot, I'm sure they didn't shed any Tiers over it
