New Everton Stadium

Probably because it’ll be a debt that we can ill afford to have around our necks when we get relegated. Players with no relegation clauses will either mean massive losses when we fire sale, or they stay and we keep paying them. We’ll lose commercial deals, sponsorship money and PL money.

Having an additional £500m tied to a stadium will not be the best.

Plus anything that tit Moshiri touches I want no part of

What if we don't go down? What if we do and come straight back up? What about the hundreds of millions we've already spent on it? Doesn't a new stadium make us more attractive to new owners and therefore makes it easier for Moshiri to sell the club if he wants to? What about the next 100 years of Everton FC when we are playing there?

The odds of us going down are more likely than ever, the financial burden of this plus any other costs associated with the club would be a massive gamble with any new person(s) who wish to buy us. Are they prepared to take that risk with us being out of the top league; would Moshiri be willing to take a £400m loss on his investment.

I get the importance of the stadium, but I also get that the financial mess we could be in this time in 6 months, and it would almost certainly put the entire club at a risk.

So personally, I’d swap the stadium for survival 100 times out of a hundred

In 8 weeks time we will have to make a decision on the future of it , if we go down it surely has to be mothballed . There is no way you can risk being a championship side spending what will probably be £600 million on a new ground .

We’ve no main sponsor at the moment and any new one is going to want to know what exposure they will get before
committing ( premier league or championship exposure ) , Loss of Tv money will be huge as well as possibly a slight reduction in gate receipts due to lower level football , all tied in with players till on big contracts then surely taking finance on to build it could end up being suicidal if we don’t come straight back up , some big decisions to be made to add to the general depression

Not so sure, barring WW3 breaking out, normal (geopolitical) service will be resumed in due course.
Most billionaires have something rotten about them, just so happens the west don’t like the smell of the oligarchs presently.
The Arabs will get their turn in due course…..

Can’t wait for the Americans to be found out…..
