No it’s not.
top clubs get £40m a year for shirt sponsorship and £20m a year for their training kit (maybe a wee bit more).
over 4 years thats £240m.
so…. The funding for the stadium? Doesn’t seem very meaty.
It might pay for the cement.

i believe they agreed fix fees for most of the materials some time ago.Cost of materials like everything else has gone though the roof recently. Throw in relegation and I doubt it'll ever get finished.

Most building contracts are placed for a fixed price based on the drawings and assumptions around the build. The costs only spiral if there are any changes to design which is where builders make hay with additional costs. There are also likely already inflation costs built into the overall price and is the gamble the builder takes when tendering for the contract.I’d be amazed if that happened , most materials for building have risen by about 15/ 20% in the last year . The stadium won’t be a fixed cost as contractors won’t work like that . If it gets built then it’s more than likely going to be cutbacks on certain aspects of the build . The £500 million often quoted will probably be north of £600 now and that’s without anything out the ground yet .
I just cant see how we can afford this whilst being in the championship.
Our revenue levels will be significantly impacted, which surely effects what sort of funding we can get from banks? The usmanov money is gone now, the government will be watching moshiri with a close eye.
Not to mention the fact material costs are going through the roof (anyone who thinks any competent builder would not have clauses in their contract is off their heads - the rising costs could literally fold a construction company).
The usmanov situation has literally changed everything imo, you don’t give your account 2 billion as a gift. He literally used moshiri as his Saul Goodman. Similar to how abramovich bought Chelsea to wash his money and create nice assets to fall back on if things went to crap.
The other scary thing is if the club are taking on the debt, how much debt exactly will we be in? We are already have The 10th largest debt in world football, without the stadium being built, or the revenue to actually pay off the debt.
The contractor will have to take the hit on materials and not the club (unless we want to help them out).
