New Everton Stadium

I get what you mean, it's just if I knew no different I'd swear the pitch would run East West from all the shots I've seen. ie Bullens and Goodison road are longer than the street end.

This is true, technically we could have had a bigger stadium if it was rotated as the North stand is smaller by design to fit into the boundary. But for reasons I mentioned and perhaps our home end also pointing to the city it was decided to go with how it is now.

It must be an optical illusion but the stadium always looks massively wider East to West than it does North to South, ie the way the pitch will be. What am i missing here? Great video once more too mate.
I have just tried to compare the length of pitch at GP with the overall width of BMD north to south on Google Maps and it looks like roughly twice the length of the GP pitch, so there is plenty of space to work with. I think it just shows how much bigger the built footprint will be compared to GP, with much more space in the concourses and lounges.

Remember there's quite an overhang on the home end that will extend right to Nelson Dock and past the brick corners at that end.

I was down there yesterday, even looking from ground level it's a little hard to picture the stadium with all the corners visible. It should start to rise spectacularly soon.

Can't wait to watch the game in one of the Premium Lounges, swigging on some Kronenberg Blanc and enjoying some smoked salmon and cream cheese topped crackers. Wonder if these Lounges will be moderately priced or whether it'll be for rich folk only who can afford £500 nicker per game.

Ahhh, I wasn't factoring in the overhang, great point mate. Thanks ;)

Anyone know if the stands can be extended easily? Not that it's an immediate worry. Just interested to know.
Apparently can be, in reality who knows. I think 52k is fine, I don’t think we will fill it after the first few seasons and the novelty has worn off, unless we suddenly start competing at the right end of the table.

I think the exact opposite to you. I think sections of supporters WILL be dropped into the equivalent place and then if you don't like it STH's may have the choice of another. Families and mates who go the game together will want to continue like that.

IMO, this is exactly how it should be. I've sat with the same group of lads for over 20 years, its a big part of my day now.

I thinks 52k is fine also but I don’t agree with us not filling it when the novelty wears off. Even if we are crap. I still think we fill it easily I could go on about the season ticket waiting list and what not. For me tho the real big one is no restricted views. We have some terrible ones at Goodison might as well be watching with a blind fold on (probably for the best this season) and they still sell.

Speaking of that, does anybody know why the main away changing rooms are still not in use at Goodison? Surely it's not still because of covid restrictions?

Covid restrictions still, the home team are spread out across 2 changing rooms because they are so small.
The Away changing room are relatively palatial in comparison.
