New Everton Stadium

Don’t think so but modern engineering anything is possible.
Years ago you would have to knock a whole stand down to rebuild and increase it. Now, using Liverpool as an example, they just built a new stand then placed it on top of the existing one.
You missed out ‘ruined a community over the course of 20 years’

It is absolutely essential that Bramley Moore Dock can generate the kind of atmosphere that Goodison does. Goodison is one of, if not the most intimidating stadium in the league and every effort needs to be made for Bramley Moore to be the same or better.
in theory it should be better, an awful lot of money, time and research is taken into the acoustics and trying to amplify the atmosphere

It will probably never be better than Goodison when it is in full voice as at the end of the day people are further away. There are levels though, better than Goodison at some of the early games this season if we are playing well? For sure. Atmosphere is what you make it by and large.

I doubt it. We are hamstrung by having to build to meet the modern day regs. I am confident they will do a good job within the constraints. The other thing is you lose intimacy with size which Is why I was glad we did not go 60k. The new White Hart lane and the Emirates don’t compare favourably with their old grounds for atmosphere IMO

i thought for some reason the new stadium is closer to people and the pitch? im sure i saw an overlay of the outline of both stadiums ...

*edit* this is the picture i was thinking about

That's because the park end is quite some distance (it was done so they could move pitch and possibly we work other stands)

On that image it's moved closer to south stand but other stands won't be as close as goodison.

Also that was the 62k design.

is the new version of the stadium further away?

I think that's more to do with the design of the stadiums.

Closer than a lot of other modern stadia but Goodison is a different beast altogether with its overlapping tiers.

Just look at the main stand where the entire balcony tier sits well in front of the one below it.
