New Everton Stadium

Apparently can be, in reality who knows. I think 52k is fine, I don’t think we will fill it after the first few seasons and the novelty has worn off, unless we suddenly start competing at the right end of the table.

I still can't understand this point of view. I always say if we had 52000 capacity at Goodison now, we'd fill it.
There's a reasonable demand / waiting list to watch us when we've been pretty garbage for a number of years, in an outdated stadium with many obstructed views. I think the "club" has brainwashed fans in to thinking our fan base is
not that big. You can't fault the ambition of a new stadium but the club is doing it out of necessity. Because of Goodison, because of (very) limited match day revenue. They've been very cautions and reserved about the capacity
of BMD. It's a small increase on Goodison that buys us the here an now.

Not linking it to our PL survival but I would be relieved when we are safe and I can start enjoying seeing the stadium come to life a bit as building continues.

Someone told me it would actually start to look like a stadium around the turn of the year. I don't know how correct that is, but I'm really excited to see it develop and the milestones reached.

Agreed. But thought there was the capability to extend the capacity. Wonder if they rolled the dice on this "new standing" thing they are looking into

You'd have to lift the roof I think. The trusses would block any views from further expansion backwards unless removed, which isn't an impossibility but would ruin the aesthetics..
The uplift in capacity would come from standing at greater than 1:1

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with these massive concrete squares at the bottom of Nelson dock, as shown in this image?
I can't find any reference to any building work here in the plans.

Potentially for the site accommodation when the number of people on site (which at the moment is relatively low) really starts to rise. It'll be canteens, offices, dry rooms etc. Often stacked 3 high creating effectively a 3 storey office block.

Anyone know if the stands can be extended easily? Not that it's an immediate worry. Just interested to know.
Don’t think so but modern engineering anything is possible.
Years ago you would have to knock a whole stand down to rebuild and increase it. Now, using Liverpool as an example, they just built a new stand then placed it on top of the existing one.
