It's the wall on Princes Dock that was built by them, the red brick one.

Right, oh. Makes sense. The Bramley-Moore Dock is from a couple of decades later than the Napoleonic Wars. No plaque necessary, then. Thanks for clearing that up.

Never knew we had prisoners of war from France?

Some French PoW were held in Liverpool, inevitably some died while here and were buried in what was then St John's graveyard at the back of St Georges Hall. The plaque is a memorial to them (I think all bodies were moved when they ripped the church down and made it into the gardens).

That’s if people can get back through the wall. There’s great concern from some quarters that the wall is just too big for Evertonians to figure out how to breach it.

They’ll just be bouncing off and walking straight into the Mersey.
