New Everton Stadium

What they're doing is trying to claim the waterfront....3 miles away.

They are a club based in a Merseyside suburb while we are now a club based at a global hub.

They recognise that and are trying to literally bridge the gap.

It's very instructive, isn't it???

Wow they've really got to you haven't they?

So I read the thread title and open it looking forward to reading about our stadium and its progress and the first thing I see is your picture of theirs. Don't we have seperate threads about them, why not post it there rather than pollute this thread?

The latest photos that lot are releasing of their ground - especially of the Anfield Road development - now seem to be trying their hardest to get the River Mersey in on the picture. I wonder why that is?

?

Looks like Newcastle with the uneven sized stands

I'm defo expecting Liverpool to be foreshortening the distance between Anfield and the river from now on.

They'll find or create some angle that makes it look like Anfield is at the riverfront or just short of it.

Oh, and they'll also foreground Anfield with other Liverpool landmarks in the city centre like the cathedrals and St John's Tower etc.

They're so insecure...and have every right to be as the junior club in Liverpool football history. The fact is that they have always been inauthentic in comparison to Everton.

You give those Yanks who own them too much credit Dave.

They couldnt find the waterfront if they walked for days.

All true . . . but not relevent to this thread.

They hire people to do all that for them.

The lads from The Anfield Wrap will be cultural advisors.

Make no mistake: this latest trend of LFC positioning Anfield against the backdrop of the Mersey is flagging up their concerns and insecurities.

They want Everton our of the way altogether. Out of the PL and with no visible impact on the city of Liverpool.

That new stadium is like a giant middle finger to them rising up at the riverfront.

In fact, Meis should have made that part of the design: a roof with a massive middle digit on the top of it that can clearly be seen at Anfield.
