New Everton Stadium

Todays futuristic is tomorrows bland embarrassment.
We need a classic iconic stadium with heritage, that stands the rest of time.

Not if it's done well.

Eiffel Tower
Sydney Opera House
Centre Pompidou
Louvre Pyramid
Guggenheim Museum, New York City
Chrysler Building

All of those were futuristic when built, and are now global architectural icons. They broke the mould, they didn't look backwards.

Fake heritage, generally speaking, is a terrible idea.

But I think the nods to Archibald Leitch, and the brick-base of the new stadium, strike the perfect balance.

I honestly think we're building one of the very best stadia in the entire world. I cannot wait to see the finished thing in person.

I don’t like the design tbh. I don’t like the roof. The stadium itself is fine, I love the brickwork, I love the patterns and what we are doing with the pump house, but I really dislike the roof as it will look dated within 10 years.…….

All down to personal taste of course, but the roof is my favourite thing about the whole stadium. That and the fan zone which will be just incredible.

I like the ground and roof, it’s not a boring soulless generic flap pack stadium it’s a new modern arena with character ( not many of those around ) in a fantastic location.

Those complaining would do well to remember what was served up in Kirby which was a flap pack arena on a supermarket car park.

My only gripe with it is whether it’s big enough or not as capacity should have been north of 55k, but the stadium design itself I think is stunning and iconic in a great location.

Boring is the king Power or Saint Mary’s which are identical stadiums with different colour seats. BMD beats those hands down in both exterior and interior plus it’s not a million miles away from the city centre like lots of other new stadia.
