New Everton Stadium

I'm having an extension built at the moment - so much, much smaller scale, with much, much smaller machinery - but they are excavating like it's nothing.

I think generally rain is the worst. But cold, even a bit of snow, is mostly okay. At least, that's what the fellas working on my house said.
Can't use or mix concrete at anything below +2 C. Won't set properly and will turn to powder, I'm led to believe. I'd be wary of your builders doing this in the current temperatures, certainly on any external structures.

You know what’s really pickling the kopites noodles - no more concerts for anfield once this beauty is open, up and running. They won’t get any more footy tournaments either, as shown by the shortlist for the EURO 28 bid - the whole thing is killing them.

Imagine the acts who will want to play gigs at BMD; the ease of the travelling to and from BMD; the quality of hotels a stones throw away from BMD; you can be into town in 10 mins after a concert having a scoop.

Now imagine that versus the current and future experience of doing the same at anfield, even after they have carpet bombed the houses, surrounding roads, community and residents to build the ugliest extensions to football grounds I have ever seen?
The whole experience of any event, football or otherwise, will crap all over what they and our “old-old” ground can offer.

Never happen though, eh lurkers? Sniff moshiris balls - the one thing the fella has got right.

I think it's fair to say that the 'latticework' pattern will be seen on the four corners of the stadium where there's unbroken brick facade for a few metres. You can see it there - more as a 'watermark' than anything more obvious though. But the perforated rainscreen panels break up the rest of the brickwork around the stadium and just dont allow even that watermark effect to happen.

It was a stupid nod to the past by Meis. I blame him for a failed design in that respect. He was throwing the kitchen sink at this in order to curry favour with the tragical history tour element of our fanbase.

It's just not worked out as far as I can see.

Will it take the look off the stadium? No. It wont. But it definitley shouldn't have made its way off the drawing board.
There's another possibility here dave. Could it be that the latticework was insisted upon by some other party and Meis has deliberately hidden it away as much as he could? Are you and he secretly on the same page about this/best friends in general?

Some stone throw that. BMD is 2 mile/11 mins in a cab from lime street and 2.4m/13 mins to Anfield.
And its next to a sewage treatment plant that can stink from time to time.
Let's not overegg it just yet lads.
The stadium itself will be great to a point - the location is still up for debate imo.

I've only been down to the ground site twice, but absolutely no smell at all on either occasion. Also haven't heard anybody else comment on a smell either. I am sure the club did their due diligence on that point, as, although they appear to be absolutely horrific at all things on the footballing and transfer side of the business, they do appear to be doing well on the stadium building part.

You tried to get away handy from anfield to town (or anywhere else) after the footy or a gig mate? It’s not close to 13 mins.

Why is the BMD stadium only great “to a point?”

Ahhhh, the old sewage treatment stinky quip - anfield stinks of Piss, next.

There’s no over egging or debate here - the stadium and it’s location is the driver for the rest of the regeneration of the ten streets area - it will end up very similar to the cains brewery village/Baltic market area.

Why not enjoy the kopite fume, instead is trying to dampen things?

I’ve been down to the ground site several times for work, got out the car and had a walk around down there - not smelt anything off putting at all.

Not if theyre staying in the Titanic it isnt. And guess what, they are probably staying in the Titanic.

my bro in law is a bricky and he wont lay bricks below a certain temp as they wont set properly, same with a Friday afternoon anytime of the year.
