New Everton Stadium

If the club still have aspirations of opening for the start of the 24/25 season isn't it a bit weird that they're not making a big thing of Goodisons final swan song in the season ticket renewal marketing

Do they need to make a huge thing about it? All season tickets that are available will be sold next season, no doubt about it. Why spend money on marketing something that is going to be sold out?

They may have something on the packaging that cards are delivered in, they might not with most being digital. Who knows.

There is a service road behind the north stand on Everton’s land. They don’t actually need any UU land to extend the stand.

They would probably have to do something to divert all the traffic onto the service road behind the south stand and close the northern road.

The north stand really is the only part of the ground that can be extended without destroying all of the roof lines.

The Anfield Road end at Anfield has been redeveloped twice in the last 24 years.

But that's them. Their stands ppay for themselves in a matter of a few years. How many stands have been redeveloped at Goodison in that same time?

We don't generate the income to do so, this new stadium will give us more but we will still carry a large debt for decades that extra will service. Will you be able to give me a business case for adding what would be 5k max in say 20 years time which will probably cost one fifth of this total build? It ain't happening. We will get safe standing adding a few thousand more but redevelopments, no.

This is the key element. Rightly or wrongly, FSG and their business setup, combined with their perceived prestige, means they can invest in their facilities.

Their main stand cost something in the region of £150m. When you factor in the extra seats, the hospitality aspects and the customers they bring in...

... it's already paid for itself. Our issue is that fans want better facilities and an iconic stadium on the river, while paying the same price for their tickets.

Look at how much they must make from their club shop on a match day, and compare it with ours. This isn't some form of envy or wanting to be like them.

However, we need to be realistic that we can't expect the same unless the models become more aligned. The corporate element alone won't pay for it.

People will pay more for success. That’s the difference really.

If the north stand was the same as the south, which would be the home end, as traditions go. The south stand design is modelled on ‘the wall’ from other stadiums. Maybe nothing to do with access roads at all tbh maybe it’s part of the design, aesthetics and other things clever architects do ??‍♂️

Some grounds have 2 home ends. As we do at Goodison (with different offers), with away fans tucked away in a corner or along the side. Before Newcastle put the visiting fans in the gods I thought the atmosphere there was probably the best in the league. Playing towards home fans for the full 90mins, both ends making the same noise. The north stand is a bit like Liverpool's existing Anfield Rd stand.... slightly non-descript. I'm sure there are plenty who will be happy with a seat anywhere at BMD, but I've yet to hear anyone say that they'd specifically like to sit at that end. If it had been full height it could've been the alternate home end. The Gwladys St end of BMD facing the single tiered South stand (the equivalent of the single tiered Park end)... a straight transposition.
