New Everton Stadium

The worst thing that ever happened to the club this
Its been a major distraction and sucked the energy out of the club for years....the whole ' finding a location and geting one accepted and built' process.

Other clubs from the past were a warning to us about what could go wrong on the pitch while building a new stadium.

We needed a new stadium, for sure. However, it turns out we were never good enough / string enough to pull off a stadium build AND stay in the top flight.

half empty in the champ

Saw on Twitter earlier an article about United looking at redeveloping their stadium. It would mean them having to find an alternative home for a period. Quite a few of their fans were suggesting our new stadium. I could almost see this happening because of our financial position. The humiliation

Piecemeal, more financially sustainable step-by-step redevelopment of our legendary old ground was always the answer in my book - where there's a will there's a way and there was never the will.

I dread to think of how the atmosphere will be at our new ground with a team like ours - empty seats etc

Never in a million years will that happen.

If we get there.

I can see this being mothballed for a while.

How on earth can a club destined to spend years in the Championship with no PL cash for collateral pay for that?
