New Everton Stadium

Everton supporters aren’t really the target market. A lot of these tickets would be aimed at corporate clients.

A company I used to work for paid for a box at the emirates and took customers there, for example.

But there will be some wealthy fans who’ll spend that much for sure.

This is also why the club are looking to offer different tiers of season tickets with access to separate bar areas, that’s the kind of hospitality which is aimed at normal fans.
Not sure why people appear to be surprised. A team aiming to compete at the top table brings with it a cost passed on to fans. There will be balance with accessible tickets for fans and people far cleverer than me will point to a financial model that is both reasonable & sustainable whilst allowing us to be competitive. But the corp offers will be what they have to be...PL standard. Trouble is Everton don't have much to sell based on performance over the last few years. Another reason why rele would be hugely damaging. This was always coming. Fans of the Sky 6 are used to it. We either accept it as a reality of modern football or just make up the numbers. Keeping the price status quo will almost certainly mean we continue to beat the likes of Liverpool, United, City etc 1 in 10.

Definitely will be an element of that and like you say different categories might suit those who are currently in a lounge at Goodison, but those at the bottom of that pyramid are not going to go from 2k to 6 or even 9k. There will have to be some adjustments or a fair proportion will remain empty which is no good to anyone.

Those with bags of cash will look to the real premium areas like the tunnel club and lodge seating.

The game may have been built on working class support, but it gets you very little in the modern game with the financial requurements unless you have owners that can subsidise it such as City and Newcastle.

Not saying that £9k is justified as I have no idea what is actually being offered, but surely there must be an understanding there has to be a big increase in ticket and hospitality costs to fund the stadium ?

Even if the club increased the cost of every standard season ticket to £1000 it would only generate an additional £30m per year. Even if they pumped all of that money into paying off the cost of the stadium it would take decades.

Hospitality is going to have to massively increase in cost.

I'm not sure what the price elasticity of demand is for our fanbase, but would've thought an increase to £1000 flat rate for GA seating could probably eradicate the waiting list in one go.

Similarly for the corporate..... Obviously the corporate sector for London dwarfs that of all provincial cities... (probably most or all of them combined). It is true that corporate/exec tiers at most large London stadiums have disproportionately helped fund those stadia and in effect subsidise the GA ticket prices. I'm not sure how that will work at BMD. We're already tripling the corporate capacity.... but quadrupling the price too? Liverpool have done quite well in this sector, so maybe some of that elasticity is there for us too.

Does one have to wear a Bowler hat and/or orange accoutrements for the lodge seating…asking for a friend!

It’s not just London.

Liverpools cheapest hospitality ticket is about £350 a game. That’s £5-6k a year, at a dump.

Our hospitality has been cheap (just like our genera tickets) for years due to a) we’re crap and b) the stadium is not desirable to those who aren’t Everton fans.

The new stadium instantly solves point b.

Here’s a good video for a comparison of the sort of “hospitality” the RS are offering for a mere £500 per person. Absolutely shocking.

As someone said in the comments, you’re basically paying £450 for snacks and a comfy seat.

This must be one seat (£2k) compared to having to buy a min table of 4 at BMD, that’s the only way those rates can be comparative.

It won’t be.

One ticket for a five course meal in the entry price point lounge at Villa Park is £400.

Leeds were charging £175+VAT for hospitality when they were in the Championship in 2017.

£2k for a season is ridiculously cheap by PL standards.
