New Everton Stadium

It doesn’t have to be sat doing nothing. We could have loads of test events there in the meantime.
There'd have to be a lot of profitable events to make it seem less wasteful.

I don't know. There are no good answers to it being finished in December.

I think the best answer is to bend reality just enough to get it finished in time for the start of the season.

Yes, that's why I said there are no good answers to it being finished December. It's unideal.

Someone I used to work with who I know deals with Laings did tell me start of the year it was that date.

But, i thought he was winding me up. He was telling the truth.

Probably be a few more delays as trying to procure some goods and equipment is a nightmare at the min with long leadtimes for stuff which in previous years would be a few weeks at most.

Yeah, I’m experiencing that on a micro scale at the mo with the extension we’re having built. Delays on all sorts.

A further delay of a couple of months would ironically make me feel a bit better about leaving the move til the end of the 24-25 season.

Let's say we are given the keys in August. Do you honestly believe we would play a whole season at GP before moving the following one? A whole 12 months with a brand new stadium sitting there NOT earning money just because it might be a bit of a headache sorting out season tickets and staff needing to know what the layout of the building is. Seriously?

We’re not getting the keys in august, it’s going to be the winter

I remember somebody on some website or other who'd done a study as part of their degree or something about the split. The root cause of it (according to him) is that Goulding was a brewer who wanted to sell his beer inside the ground. The rest of the board were against it. This caused him to bump up the rent to make up the money he wasn't earning from selling his ale. And that caused the split.
Was Bill on the board back then as well?
