New Everton Stadium

The other big difference aside from paying to use Wembley was that they no longer had the old WHL so they surely would move to NWHL as soon as possible. We will still have GP.

Yep. Its like when Arsenal built The Emirates; played at Highbury till it was the time to move. Not a clue if it was mid season mind.

I'm as excited about the stadium as most..... but i have some reservations/concerns, that I don't think are unfounded. I don't believe in using hype or misplaced/misinformed comparisons to mask them.
You make good points and you're clearly knowledgeable about stadium design. Your posts are well articulated and I have read them with interest Tom. I have also defended you previously on this very forum. That said, if you are "as excited about the stadium as most" then it absolutely does not come across.

I may be wrong, but I don't recall any of your posts getting remotely excited about anything. You're absolutely right in that you are usually responding to points others have made and you always do so with reasoned argument and often logic. You don't get personal and you are clearly as blue as they come. But the issue for some is that it always seems to be slanted on the negative. If it were tempered with some excited posts (even Davek gets his positive pants on lately) then I don't think anyone would take issue with the other stuff. Trouble is that it feels somewhat inevitable at the mere mention of concerns about design or capacity, or the North stand, or South Stand... up pops Tom to tell us all why it isn't as good as we think and to seemingly piss on the proverbial bonfire.

I honestly don't think you deserve the flack you get most of the time and I'm certainly not trying to pile on either, just thought I might try and articulate why you might be getting some push back.

Tell us what you do like about it. What excites you. Give us the benefit of your expertise on a positive element rather than those that you have reservations or concerns about. Don't stop discussing what you don't like, but maybe dilute it with some of that excitement you insist is in there.

After reading the communique I've interpreted it an accepted it'll be at the commencement of 25/26 season that our first league game will be played.
I love the way they state that they've said from day one the stadium will be completed at the end of 23/24 but added they never said when we'd play our first game in anger.
True to form Colin.

Would personally like to have the first game when it was a bit warmer, everything looks a bit grey and grimy in winter. But would I want that at the expense of a new forward that we'll probably still need by then is another question. If the income value is large enough then wouldn't we just be shooting ourselves in the foot over nostalgia and that's something we blame the board of doing too often.

Absolutely spot on.

That would be ideal. Keep the Goodison season tickets as they are, then the new ones for BMD could be discounted as half season tickets from Boxing Day onwards.

Then give Goodison a final send-off at the end of the season against Bayern or something.
